Agroforestry commodities’ price, August 25: Rice, coffee increase, while pepper keeps moving sideways

(VAN) August 25, 2021, rice prices increase slightly by VND 100. Pepper prices continue to keep moving sideways with the highest of VND 79,000, while coffee prices go up by VND 500 per kilogram.

Forestry and agricultural commodity prices today, August 25, keep unchanged in the world pepper market, but increase in the world coffee and rubber market.

Coffee prices

In the world market, coffee prices today, August 25, simultaneously increase sharply in two large exchanges, after the US approved a budget package of US$ 3.5 trillion.

After the latest session, the Robusta coffee futures price in ICE Futures Europe (London) exchange for September 2021 contracts is up by US$ 71 per ton at US$ 1,964 per ton and up by US$ 59 per ton at US$ 1,971 per ton for November 2021 contracts.

Likewise, the Arabica coffee futures price in ICE Futures US (New York) for September 2021 contracts is up by Cent 3.35 per pound at Cent 183.3 per pound and up by Cent 3.9 per pound at Cent 185.75 per pound for December 2021 contracts.

Despite the sharp increase in coffee prices, global demand for coffee remains high. The export price of Vietnam's Robusta coffee is about US$ 1,900 per tonne.

In the domestic market, coffee prices today, August 25, continue to increase by VND 500 per kilogram in most key provinces.

Specifically, coffee prices today in Di Linh, Bao Loc, and Lam Ha districts of Lam Dong province is VND 38,300 per kilogram, increasing by VND 500.

In Dak Lak province, coffee prices are VND 39,100-39,200 per kilogram, increasing by VND 500.

In Dak Nong, Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces, coffee is purchased at VND 39,000-39,100 per kilogram, increasing by VND 500.

Pepper prices

In the world market, pepper prices today, August 25, at Kochi exchange (India), keep unchanged compared to the latest session, at INR 41,300 per quintal.

The cross rate of Vietnam Dong to Indian Rupee (INR) from August 19 to August 25, 2021, applied by the State Bank for export and import tax calculation, is VND 311.47/INR.

Exports in July 2021 reached 26,339 tonnes of pepper of all kinds, with a turnover of US$ 95.13 million. Thus, through the first half of August 2021, the pepper exported was only one-third in July 2021.

In the first 7 months of the year, Pearl Group is still Vietnam's largest pepper exporter with 16,421 tonnes, down 7.1% over the same period last year.

In the domestic market, pepper prices keep stable in key provinces, ranging from VND 76,000-79,000 per kilogram.

Specifically, the pepper price in Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces is at VND 77,000 per kilogram.

In Dong Nai and Gia Lai provinces, the pepper price is VND 76,000 per kilogram.

The pepper price in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province keeps at the highest of VND 79,000.

The pepper price in Binh Phuoc province is VND 78,000 per kilogram.

Rubber prices

In the world market, rubber prices increase in exchanges compared to the latest session.

In Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM), the futures rubber price for August 2521 contracts is down by JPY 0.5 at JPY 203.0 per kilogram, up by JPY 0.3 at JPY 206.3 per kilogram for September 2021 contracts, and up by JPY 1.2 at JPY 210.6 per kilogram for October 2021 contracts.

In Shanghai Commodity Futures Exchange (SHFE), the futures rubber price for August 2521 contracts is CNY 13,250 per ton, up by CNY 120 at CNY 13,390 per ton for September 2021 contracts, and up by CNY 105 at CNY 13,450 per ton for October 2021 contracts.

In the domestic, rubber prices are stable compared to yesterday.

Fresh rubber latex prices in Binh Phuoc province range from VND 310-315 per TSC-DRC.

Phu Rieng Rubber One Member Limited Liability Company, Binh Phuoc province, publishes the fresh rubber latex price at VND 325 per TSC-DRC.

In Dak Lak province, the rubber latex price is VND 16,000-18,000 per kilogram, depending on the type.

The selling price of several rice varieties has decreased by VND 200-600 per kilogram compared to the beginning of the crop. The reason is that there are few buyers, while transportation costs are increasingly high, especially the cost of boats transporting from the field to the border checkpoint and the fee for loading at the checkpoint.

In An Giang province, rice prices today, August 25, increase in some types compared to yesterday.

Specifically, the sticky paddy price is VND 4,100-4,500 per kilogram, increasing by VND 100.

The OM 5451 paddy price is VND 5,000-5,200 per kilogram.

The fresh OM 18 paddy price is VND 5,500-5,800 VND per kilogram.

The fresh IR 50404 paddy price is VND 4,500-4,700 VND per kilogram.

The fresh OM 9582 paddy price is VND 4,700-4,900 per kilogram, increasing by VND 100.

The fresh OM 6976 paddy price is VND 5,100-5,300 per kilogram.

The fresh Japanese paddy price is VND 7,500-7,600 per kilogram.

The fresh 8 fragrant paddy is VND 5,700-5,800 per kilogram.
