According to Mrs. Hoang Thi Lien, President of VPSA, climate change, which makes weather increasingly unpredictable, is a major challenge for farmers because it raises costs for irrigation and pest control to boost productivity. Climate change also exacerbates pest problems on pepper plants (quick death disease, nematodes, leaf wilt disease, etc.).\
Moreover, regulations regarding pesticide residues and environmental standards in major markets are creating pressure on the pepper industry to adjust cultivation methods and production processes.
To overcome these challenges, the pepper industry must adopt sustainable development practices. One of the crucial solutions for the sustainable development of this crop is applying Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and, even further, applying Integrated Plant Health Management (IPHM) processes...
Thus, domestic pepper prices on January 14, 2025, are trading around VND 147,000 - 147,500/kg.
