On the global market, rubber prices continued their upward trend.
At the time of the survey, RSS3 rubber on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) for May 2025 delivery rose by ¥ 5.8 (1.8%) to ¥ 322/kg.
Meanwhile, on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE), natural rubber for May 2025 delivery increased sharply by CNY 170 (1.15%) to CNY 14,935/kg.
In Thailand, rubber for June delivery edged up by 0.32 baht (0.4%) to 76.3 baht/kg.
Global rubber prices recorded a sharp increase today. The Malaysian rubber market continued its upward trend amid optimism over a possible trade ceasefire agreement between the U.S. and China, according to a trader cited by Bernama.
Latest rubber prices on May 15, 2025, domestically and globally
This is an important step in the group's decarbonization efforts to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, according to an announcement from Sumitomo Rubber on April 15.
The Shirakawa facility, which produces tires for passenger vehicles, trucks, and buses, is Sumitomo Rubber’s main production site, consuming about 10,350 tons of fresh rubber per month.
By producing green hydrogen on-site, the Japanese rubber and tire group hopes to reduce about 1,000 tons of CO₂ per year (1 ktpa), including emissions from Scope 1, 2, and 3, with transportation emissions also accounted for.

In the domestic market, raw rubber latex prices remain unchanged compared to yesterday.
According to the latest listed prices, raw rubber latex at Mang Yang Company ranges from VND 397 – 401/TSC; mixed coagulated latex is being purchased at around VND 359 – 409/DRC.
At Ba Ria Rubber Company, the purchase price of fresh latex is VND 462/TSC, DRC coagulated latex with 35–44% solid content is at VND 13,600/kg, and raw latex is priced between VND 16,900 – 18,200/kg.
The latest quote from Phu Rieng Rubber Company ranges from VND 400/DRC for mixed latex and VND 440/TSC for fresh latex.
Thus, domestic rubber prices on May 15, 2025, are ranging from VND 397 to 462/TSC.
