(VAN) Pepper prices saw a slight increase in Dak Nong, trading at VND 160,000 - 162,500/kg. Meanwhile, Indonesia recorded a slight upward movement in prices.

On the global market, pepper prices in Indonesia increased slightly today.

Specifically, black pepper Lampung in Indonesia rose 0.05% to $ 7,298/ton, while white pepper Muntok increased 0.74% to $ 10,143/ton.

In Malaysia, black pepper Kuching ASTA remains at $ 9,000/ton, and white pepper ASTA is priced at $ 11,600/ton.

For Brazil, black pepper ASTA 570 is being traded at $ 6,800/ton.

Meanwhile, in Vietnam, black pepper export prices have decreased, with 500 g/l at $ 6,500/ton and 550 g/l at $ 6,650/ton. Similarly, white pepper export prices are at $ 9,550/ton.

Global pepper prices today showed little fluctuation, with a slight increase in Indonesia, while other countries remained stable.

The International Pepper Community (IPC) forecasts that global pepper production in 2025 will continue to decline, partly because the economic yield of pepper is lower compared to other crops, leading many farmers to avoid choosing pepper as their main crop.

Other factors affecting production include extreme weather conditions, which impact pepper yields, while production costs have risen significantly.
