On the global market, pepper prices today saw notable fluctuations on April 9, 2025. According to updates from the International Pepper Community (IPC), prices in major producing countries such as Indonesia, Brazil, and Malaysia all recorded slight decreases. Specifically:

Black pepper Lampung (Indonesia): Currently traded at $ 7,117/ton, down 1.71% compared to the previous trading day.

White pepper Muntok: At $ 9,764/ton, down 3.09%.

Black pepper ASTA 570 (Brazil): Currently at $ 6,800/ton, down 2.16%.

Black pepper ASTA (Malaysia): Remains stable at $ 9,850/ton.

White pepper ASTA (Malaysia): Also steady at $ 12,300/ton.

Vietnam remains the largest supplier of pepper to the U.S. market, accounting for up to 77% of the total pepper volume imported by the country. However, with the U.S. imposing a retaliatory tariff of up to 46% on Vietnamese pepper, the domestic pepper industry is facing significant challenges.

Pepper prices on April 9 domestically

According to the latest update on the morning of April 9, 2025, domestic pepper prices recorded a sharp decline of VND 5,000 to VND 6,000/kg compared to the previous trading session. The average purchasing price in key regions is now ranging from VND 148,000 to VND 149,000/kg. Specifically:

In Gia Lai: Pepper price dropped by VND 5,000/kg, currently at VND 148,000/kg.

In Dak Lak: The price decreased by VND 6,000/kg, now at VND 149,000/kg.

In Dak Nong: the price also fell by VND 6,000/kg, reaching VND 149,000/kg.

In Ba Ria - Vung Tau: Price declined by VND 5,000/kg, to VND 149,000/kg.

In Binh Phuoc: The price dropped by VND 5,000/kg, currently at VND 149,000/kg.

In Dong Nai: the price fell by VND 5,000/kg, to VND 149,000/kg.
