Live pig prices on December 30 in the North

The live pig market in the Northern region has shown no changes compared to yesterday.

Accordingly, the price of live pigs in Hanoi remains at VND 69,000/kg, the highest in the region and nationwide.

Traders in Lao Cai, Hai Duong, Vinh Phuc, Ninh Binh, and Tuyen Quang are still buying at VND 67,000/kg, the lowest in the region.

Other localities continue to purchase live pigs at VND 68,000/kg.

Thus, as of December 30, 2024, live pig prices in the Northern region are trading between VND 67,000 and VND 69,000/kg.

The live pig market in the Central and Central Highlands regions remains stable compared to yesterday.

Specifically, traders in Quang Tri, Quang Nam, and Khanh Hoa are still purchasing at VND 65,000/kg, the lowest in the region.

Other localities continue to trade around VND 66,000 to VND 68,000/kg.

Thus, as of December 30, 2024, live pig prices in the Central and Central Highlands regions are being purchased around VND 65,000 to VND 68,000/kg.

The live pig market in the Southern region remains stable compared to yesterday.

Specifically, traders in Kien Giang, Tien Giang, and Tra Vinh are purchasing at VND 64,000/kg, the lowest in the country.

Other localities are buying around VND 65,000 to VND 68,000/kg.

Thus, as of December 30, 2024, live pig prices in the Southern region are being traded between VND 64,000 and VND 68,000/kg.

Bac Giang: Livestock sector in Tan Yen contributes significantly to the local economy

According to the Department of Agriculture in Tan Yen district (Bac Giang), the livestock sector in the area has been developing steadily, primarily focusing on pigs (180,000 heads) and poultry (2.9 million birds). This sector makes a significant contribution to the agricultural production value and the overall local economy.

In recent years, to support livestock development, Tan Yen district has implemented projects to enhance livestock farming, ensure disease safety, and provide chemicals and vaccines.

In addition to raising regular commercial chickens, many households in Tan Yen, Bac Giang, have shifted towards breeding male chickens to meet the demand for sacrificial chickens during the Lunar New Year, resulting in unexpectedly high economic returns.
