Forestry and agricultural commodity prices today, August 28, keep unchanged in the world pepper, but increase slightly in the world coffee market and decrease sharply in the world rubber market.

Coffee prices

In the world market, coffee prices today, August 28, continue to increase slightly in two large exchanges.

After the latest session, the Robusta coffee futures price in ICE Futures Europe (London) exchange for September 2021 contracts is up by US$ 25 per ton at US$ 2,012 per ton and up by US$ 24 per ton at US$ 2,018 per ton for November 2021 contracts.

Likewise, the Arabica coffee futures price in ICE Futures US (New York) for September 2021 contracts is up by Cent 3.85 per pound at Cent 189.5 per pound and up by Cent 4.2 per pound at Cent 192.2 per pound for December 2021 contracts.

In the domestic market, coffee prices today, August 28, continue to increase by VND 100-200 per kilogram in most key provinces.

Specifically, coffee prices today in Di Linh, Bao Loc, and Lam Ha districts of Lam Dong province is VND 39,100 per kilogram, increasing by VND 100.

In Dak Lak province, coffee prices are VND 40,000-40,100 per kilogram, increasing by VND 200.

In Dak Nong, Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces, coffee is purchased at VND 39,900-40,000 per kilogram, increasing by VND 200.

In the world market, pepper prices today, August 28, at Kochi exchange (India), keep unchanged compared to the latest session, at INR 41,300 per quintal.

The cross rate of Vietnam Dong to Indian Rupee (INR) from August 19 to August 28, 2021, applied by the State Bank for export and import tax calculation, is VND 311.47/INR.

Vietnam continued to be the largest source of pepper to the US market in the first 6 months of the year with 28.7 thousand tonnes, up 2.3% over the same period last year and accounting for 64% of the total volume of the US's imported pepper.

In the domestic market, pepper prices decrease by VND 500 per kilogram in some provinces.

Specifically, the pepper price in Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces is at VND 76,500 per kilogram.

In Dong Nai and Gia Lai provinces, the pepper price is VND 75,000 per kilogram, decreasing by VND 500.

The pepper price in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province keeps at the highest of VND 78,500, decreasing by VND 500.

The pepper price in Binh Phuoc province keeps at VND 77,500 per kilogram.

Rubber prices

According to the General Department of Customs, in the first 7 months of 2021, the whole country exported 918,791 tonnes of rubber, earning nearly US$ 1.54 billion. The average price reached US$ 1,677.8 per tonne, up 34.2% in volume and 74.5% in turnover.

In the world market, rubber prices decrease sharply in exchanges compared to the latest session.

In Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM), the futures rubber price for August 2021 contracts is JPY 203.1 per kilogram, down by JPY 9.4 at JPY 194.0 per kilogram for September 2021 contracts, and down by JPY 8.2 at JPY 199.0 per kilogram for October 2021 contracts.

In Shanghai Commodity Futures Exchange (SHFE), the futures rubber price for August 2021 contracts is CNY 13,250 per ton, down by CNY 415 at CNY 12,920 per ton for September 2021 contracts, and down by CNY 460 at CNY 12,950 per ton for October 2021 contracts.

In the domestic, rubber prices are stable compared to yesterday.

Fresh rubber latex prices in Binh Phuoc province range from VND 320-327 per TSC-DRC.

Phu Rieng Rubber One Member Limited Liability Company, Binh Phuoc province, publishes the fresh rubber latex price at VND 325 per TSC-DRC.

In Dak Lak province, the rubber latex price is VND 16,000-18,000 per kilogram, depending on the type.

Rice prices

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, fertilizer prices may level off and decrease gradually due to reduced demand at the end of the summer-autumn rice crop.

Currently, the domestic urea production capacity is 2.66 million tonnes. Domestic consumption is expected to be only 1.8-2 million tonnes per year, so 500-660 tonnes can be exported.

In An Giang province, rice prices today, August 28, continue to increase in some types compared to yesterday.

Specifically, the sticky paddy price is VND 4,300-4,400 per kilogram.

The OM 5451 paddy price is VND 5,100-5,300 per kilogram, increasing by VND 100.

The fresh OM 18 paddy price is VND 5,550-5,800 VND per kilogram.

The fresh IR 50404 paddy price is VND 4,700-5,000 VND per kilogram.

The fresh OM 9582 paddy price is VND 4,800-4,900 per kilogram, increasing by VND 100.

The fresh OM 6976 paddy price is VND 5,000-5,200 per kilogram.

The fresh Japanese paddy price is VND 7,500-7,600 per kilogram.

The fresh 8 fragrant paddy is VND 5,500-5,800 per kilogram.
