Rice prices today decreased further, with most buyers halting new purchases and awaiting the situation as rice prices continue to drop.

In An Giang, the rice at the end of the season is traded less, as most rice has already been reserved. Meanwhile, in Dong Thap, early winter-spring rice is being offered in small quantities, with transactions remaining slow.

  • IR 50404 paddy is trading at VND 7,600 - 7,800/kg; Tai Thon 8 paddy is priced at VND 9,100 - 9,200/kg.
  • OM 5451 paddy is being traded at VND 8,600 - 8,800/kg; OM 18 paddy is priced at VND 9,000 - 9,100/kg.
  • OM 380 paddy remains at VND 7,200/kg; Japanese paddy is priced at VND 7,800 - 8,000/kg.
  • Nang Nhen (dried) paddy is trading at VND 20,000/kg; Nang Hoa 9 paddy is priced at VND 9,200 - 9,400/kg.

Meanwhile, rice prices today (December 19) have decreased, with rice arrivals being sparse and trading volume low.

In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), demand from warehouses is weak, and some rice prices have fallen by VND 100 - 200/kg. In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), there is limited availability of good-quality rice, and prices are decreasing.

  • Raw IR 504 Summer-Autumn rice is priced at VND 9,400 - 9,600/kg (down VND 300); finished IR 504 rice is at VND 12,000 - 12,200/kg.
  • Sticky rice is being sold at VND 18,000 - 22,000/kg; regular rice is at VND 17,000 - 18,000/kg; Nang Nhen rice is at VND 28,000/kg.
  • Fragrant Thai long-grain rice is priced at VND 20,000 - 22,000/kg; Jasmine rice is at VND 17,000 - 18,000/kg; Huong Lai rice is holding steady at VND 22,000/kg.
  • Common white rice is being bought at VND 17,500/kg; Nang Hoa rice is at VND 21,500/kg; Sok rice is at VND 18,500/kg; Sok Thai rice is at VND 21,000/kg.
  • Taiwan fragrant rice is priced at VND 21,000/kg; Japanese rice is held at VND 22,500/kg.
  • OM 5451 broken rice is trading at VND 8,700 - 8,800/kg; dry rice bran is priced at VND 5,700 - 5,800/kg.

On the export market, the price of 100% broken rice is at $ 405/ton; 5% broken rice is being purchased at $ 509/ton. The price of 25% broken rice is at $ 477/ton.
