Kuching ASTA black pepper from Malaysia was priced at $ 8,400/ton, while the country’s ASTA white pepper was at $ 10,500/ton.
In the Brazilian market, ASTA 570 black pepper was trading at $ 6,000/ton.
In Vietnam, the export price for 500 g/l black pepper was at $ 6,200/ton, and 550 g/l black pepper was at $ 6,500/ton. Export white pepper prices were at $ 9,400/ton.
Thus, global pepper prices on November 21, 2024, remain stable compared to yesterday.
In the domestic market, pepper prices on November 21 saw a slight decline compared to yesterday.
Specifically, Dak Lak, pepper is being purchased at VND 139,500/kg, down VND 500.
In Dak Nong, prices also dropped by VND 500 to VND 139,500/kg.
In Gia Lai, prices decreased by VND 1,000, falling to VND 138,000/kg.
Traders in Dong Nai are buying pepper at VND 138,000/kg, down VND 500.
In Ba Ria - Vung Tau, the price is VND 138,000/kg, down VND 1,000.
In Binh Phuoc, pepper is being traded at VND 138,500/kg, a decrease of VND 500.
Domestic pepper prices decreased by VND 500 - 1,000, bringing the commodity below the VND 140,000/kg mark.
According to preliminary statistics from the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), in the first 15 days of November, Vietnam exported 8,082 tons of various types of pepper, with a total value of $ 55.4 million, a decrease of 10.6% in volume and 5% in value compared to the first half of October.
On the other hand, Vietnam imported 2,484 tons of pepper in the first half of November, with an import value of $ 14.3 million, an 8.2% increase in volume compared to the first half of October. Indonesia continues to be the largest supplier of pepper to Vietnam, accounting for 82.3% with 2,045 tons.
From the beginning of the year to November 15, Vietnam has imported 31,080 tons of pepper, valued at $ 145.6 million, marking a significant increase compared to the same period last year and surpassing the 26,538 tons imported in all of 2023.
Thus, the domestic pepper price on November 21, 2024, is trading around VND 138,000 - 139,500/kg.
