Latest domestic and global pepper price update on November 17, 2024
Globally, pepper prices on November 17 slightly decreased in Indonesia.
Specifically, the price of black pepper from Lampung, Indonesia, dropped by 0.09%, to $ 6,470/ton. Meanwhile, the price of white pepper from Muntok also fell by 0.09%, reaching $ 9,055/ton.
In Malaysia, Kuching ASTA black pepper is priced at $ 8,400/ton, while ASTA white pepper is trading at $ 10,500/ton.
In the Brazilian market, ASTA 570 black pepper is priced at $ 6,000/ton.
In Vietnam, the export price of black pepper grade 500 g/l is $ 6,200/ton, while the 550 g/l grade is $ 6,500/ton. Meanwhile, the export price of white pepper stands at $ 9,400/ton.
Pepper prices today decreased slightly again in Indonesia but remained stable in other countries.
According to Harris Spice, there has been a slight downward price trend since the beginning of the month. Buyers remain cautious, awaiting clearer information about production in both Vietnam and Brazil for the upcoming season.
Despite the very low import levels into China this year, the shortfall has been offset by increased supply from European countries. Vietnam has exported more than 200,000 tons of pepper this year, indicating that a significant portion of the current production has already been exported.
Thus, global pepper prices on November 17, 2024, decreased again in Indonesia compared to yesterday.
In Vietnam, pepper prices today continue to rise compared to yesterday.
Specifically, in Dak Lak, the price of pepper has increased to VND 139,500/kg, up by VND 500.
In Dak Nong, the price of pepper has risen by VND 1,000, reaching VND 140,000/kg.
In Gia Lai, the price of pepper today is VND 139,000/kg, an increase of VND 1,000.
Traders in Dong Nai are purchasing pepper at VND 138,500/kg, up by VND 500.
Similarly, the price of pepper in Ba Ria - Vung Tau has increased to VND 139,000/kg.
Finally, traders in Binh Phuoc are buying pepper at VND 139,000/kg, an increase of VND 1,000.
Domestic pepper prices today have increased by VND 500 to VND 1,000. As a result, the price of this agricultural product has risen to the VND 140,000/kg mark.
Thus, on November 17, 2024, domestic pepper prices are trading around VND 138,500 to VND 140,000/kg.
