Pepper prices on May 6, 2025: Decreases in Dak Lak and Dak Nong

(VAN) Pepper prices on May 6, 2025, decreased slightly by VND 500 to 1,000 in Dak Lak and Dak Nong, bringing prices down to around VND 154,000 – 155,500/kg.

Globally, pepper prices continued to rise today, May 6, in Indonesia.

Specifically, the price of black pepper from Lampung, Indonesia increased by 0.34%, reaching $ 7,372/ton. Meanwhile, white pepper from Muntok rose by 0.44%, to $ 9,985/ton.

The price of black pepper Kuching ASTA from Malaysia remained at $ 9,300/ton, while Malaysian white pepper ASTA held steady at $ 11,900/ton.

In Brazil, black pepper ASTA 570 continued to be traded at around $ 6,800/ton.

In Vietnam, the export price of black pepper grade 500 g/l was $ 6,700/ton, and grade 550 g/l was $ 6,800/ton. White pepper for export remained at $ 9,700/ton.

Global pepper prices on May 6, 2025, increased slightly in Indonesia while remaining unchanged in other countries.

However, production in 2025 is forecast to drop by 8.7% due to limited investment and unfavourable weather conditions.

Currently, the global pepper market continues to face upward price pressure in 2025, as production is expected to decline for the fourth consecutive year.

Thus, global pepper prices rose slightly in Indonesia on May 6, 2025 compared to yesterday.

In Vietnam, domestic pepper prices dropped slightly in some regions compared to the previous day.

In Dak Lak, the price of pepper dropped by 1,000 VND, trading at 155,000 VND/kg.

In Dak Nong, prices also edged down by 500 VND to reach 155,500 VND/kg.

Meanwhile, in Gia Lai, pepper remains stable at 154,000 VND/kg.

Traders in Dong Nai are still purchasing pepper at 155,000 VND/kg.

The price in Ba Ria - Vung Tau holds steady at 155,000 VND/kg.

Traders in Binh Phuoc are also transacting at 155,000 VND/kg.

Thus, pepper prices in the domestic market on May 6, 2025, are ranging from 154,000 to 155,500 VND/kg.
