The domestic pepper market on January 20, 2025, recorded stability in most key growing regions. Prices continue to range between VND 145,000 and VND 146,000/kg, with no changes compared to the previous session.

Specifically:

Central Highlands region:

  • Pepper prices in Dak Lak: unchanged at VND 145,500/kg.
  • Pepper prices in Gia Lai: stable at VND 145,000/kg.
  • Pepper prices in Dak Nong: The highest in the region at VND 146,000/kg.

Southeast region:

  • Pepper prices in Ba Ria - Vung Tau: The highest nationwide at VND 146,000/kg.
  • Pepper prices in Binh Phuoc: Stable at VND 145,000/kg.
  • Pepper prices in Dong Nai: VND 146,000/kg.

Thus, the highest pepper prices today were recorded in Dak Nong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, and Dong Nai at VND 146,000/kg, while the lowest price was VND 145,000/kg, observed in Gia Lai and Binh Phuoc.

According to data from the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), the price of pepper in the domestic market in the last three months of 2024 maintained a level of VND 140,000 – VND 150,000/kg, significantly increasing compared to the beginning of the year (black pepper increased by 75.6% and white pepper increased by 68.8%). The export price also saw a similar growth, 30.7% for black pepper and 28.6% for white pepper.

The export market for Vietnam's pepper has been stable, but it has slightly declined. Specifically, the price of black pepper from Vietnam for export currently stands at $ 6,350/ton for the 500 g/l grade and $ 6,650/ton for the 550 g/l grade; the price of white pepper is at $ 9,550/ton.
