On the global market, rubber prices are showing mixed movements.
At the time of the survey, RSS3 rubber on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) for May 2025 delivery surged by JPY 9 (2.8%), reaching JPY 328.9/kg.
Meanwhile, on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE), natural rubber for May 2025 delivery edged down by CNY 10 (0.1%) to CNY 14,835/kg.
In Thailand, natural rubber for June delivery rose sharply by baht 0.94 (1.2%), reaching baht 77.14/kg.
Rubber prices today continued to fall in China but rose strongly in Japan and Thailand.
In the first four months of 2025, China exceeded 10 million units in both automobile production and sales for the first time, thanks largely to favorable policies and technological advancements, according to Yicai Global.
The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) reported that car production rose 13% year-on-year to 10.17 million units, while sales climbed 11% to 10.06 million units by April 30. This also raises expectations for increased demand for rubber-based tires.
Production and consumption of new energy vehicles (NEVs) surged, reaching 4.43 million and 4.3 million units respectively, up 48% and 46%. Of the total vehicles sold, around 8.12 million were consumed domestically (up 12% YoY), while 1.93 million were exported (up 6%).
Thus, global rubber prices on May 20, 2025, showed mixed trends compared to the previous day.
On the domestic market, latex prices remained stable compared to yesterday.

According to the latest listed prices, raw latex at Mang Yang Rubber Company is being purchased at between VND 397 – 401/TSC, while coagulated latex is being bought at VND 359 – 409/DRC.
At Ba Ria Rubber Company, the purchasing price for liquid latex is VND 462/TSC. Coagulated latex with 35–44% DRC is priced at VND 13,600/kg, while raw latex is ranging from VND 16,900 – 18,200/kg.
The most recent quote from Phu Rieng Rubber Company shows that coagulated latex is priced at VND 400/DRC, and liquid latex at VND 440/TSC.
Thus, domestic rubber prices on May 20, 2025, are ranging between VND 397 – 462/TSC.
