Pepper prices on December 8 globally

Globally, pepper prices on December 8 remained stable.

Specifically, the price of black pepper in Lampung, Indonesia, stayed at $ 6,703/ton, while white pepper from Muntok maintained a level of $ 9,148/ton.

In Malaysia, Kuching ASTA black pepper was priced at $ 8,200/ton, and ASTA white pepper was traded at $ 10,500/ton.

For the Brazilian market, ASTA 570 black pepper traded at $ 6,275/ton.

In Vietnam, the export of 500 g/l of black pepper was priced at $ 6,200/ton, while the 550 g/l variety stood at $ 6,500/ton. The export of white pepper from Vietnam remained at $ 9,300/ton.

Global pepper prices today remain stable. Summarizing this week's market, the pepper market showed mixed movements.

In which, black pepper from Indonesia increased by 1.1%; while white pepper from this country increased slightly by 0.1%. Similarly, black pepper prices from Brazil increased sharply by 2% this week.

In the opposite direction, black pepper from Malaysia lost up to 2.4%; Vietnam's white pepper exports decreased by more than 1%.

Thus, global pepper prices on December 8, 2024, have not changed compared to yesterday.

Pepper prices on December 8 domestically

Domestically, pepper prices on December 8 are still rising sharply compared to yesterday.

Specifically, Dak Lak is buying pepper at VND 147,000/kg, an increase of VND 2,000;

Dak Nong's pepper price today also increased by VND 2,000, reaching VND 147,200/kg;

Gia Lai's price today is VND 146,500/kg, up by VND 1,500;

Traders in Dong Nai are buying pepper at VND 146,000/kg, an increase of VND 2,000;

Ba Ria - Vung Tau's pepper price rose by VND 2,000, reaching VND 146,000/kg;

Finally, traders in Binh Phuoc are trading at VND 146,000/kg, also increasing by VND 2,000.

Regarding import companies, Olam Vietnam was the largest importer in the first 11 months, accounting for 34.5% of the market share, with a volume of 11,383 tons. The following companies are Tran Chau with 4,042 tons and Harris Spice with 2,016 tons.

Additionally, Indonesia is the largest supplier of pepper to Vietnam after 11 months, reaching 14,123 tons, which accounts for 42.8% of total imports. Meanwhile, imports from Brazil decreased by 39.9%, totalling 9,203 tons.

Thus, domestic pepper prices on December 8, 2024, are trading around VND 146,000 - 147,200/kg.
