Pepper prices on October 2 globally

Globally, pepper prices on October 2 remained unchanged.

Specifically, the price of black pepper from Lampung, Indonesia, holds steady at $ 6,939/ton, while white pepper from Muntok, Indonesia, is priced at $ 9,278/ton.

In Malaysia, Kuching ASTA black pepper is priced at $ 8,900/ton, and white pepper ASTA is trading at $ 11,400/ton.

For Brazil, ASTA 570 black pepper is trading at $ 6,750/ton.

In Vietnam, black pepper for export at 500 g/l is priced at $ 6,800/ton, and the 550 g/l variety is trading at $ 7,100/ton. White pepper for export is currently priced at $ 10,150/ton.

The world pepper prices today have not shown any new fluctuations in all countries.

Thus, the world pepper price on 10/02/2024 remains stable compared to yesterday.

Specifically, Dak Lak purchases pepper at VND 149,000/kg (up to VND 500);

The pepper price in Dak Nong today holds at VND 148,000/kg (down VND 1,000);

The price in Gia Lai today is trading at VND 147,000/kg (down VND 1,000);

Traders in Dong Nai are still purchasing pepper at VND 148,000/kg;

The price in Ba Ria - Vung Tau today is at VND 148,000/kg;

While traders in Binh Phuoc are trading pepper at VND 149,000/kg (up VND 1,000).

The domestic pepper prices today have increased slightly by VND 500-1,000 in Dak Lak and Binh Phuoc. Meanwhile, Dak Nong and Gia Lai have decreased by VND 1,000.

The Agency of Foreign Trade (Ministry of Industry and Trade) estimates that Vietnam exported 20,000 tons of pepper in September, equivalent to a value of $ 125 million; an increase of 3% in volume and 6.9% in value compared to the previous month, as well as an increase of 10.4% in volume and 84.9% in value compared to the same period last year.

As of the end of September, Vietnam's pepper exports reached 203 thousand tons, with a revenue of $ 1 billion, down 1.5% in volume but up 46.9% in value compared to the same period last year due to high prices.

In September alone, the average export price of pepper is estimated at $ 6,239/ton, up 3.8% compared to the previous month and up 67.5% compared to the same period last year. This is also the highest price achieved in the past eight years.

On average, in the first nine months of the year, the export price of this item reached $ 4,941/ton, up 49.2% compared to the same period in 2023.

Thus, the domestic pepper price on 10/02/2024 is trading around VND 148,000 - 149,000/kg.
