(VAN) August 16, 2021, fish prices are stable while white shrimp prices go up in some types. Live pork prices also change less compared to yesterday.

Live pork prices today, August 16, in the Northern market, change oppositely by VND 1,000 per kilogram in some provinces compared to yesterday.

Specifically, after a VND 1,000 decrease, the live pork price is VND 54,000 per kilogram in Thai Binh, the same in Nam Dinh, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Ha Nam, Vinh Phuc and Ninh Binh provinces.

After a VND 1,000 increase, the live pork price in Yen Bai province is VND 56,000 per kilogram, the same in Lao Cai and Tuyen Quang provinces.

The live pork price is the region’s highest VND 57,000 per kilogram Hung Yen province, followed by Bac Giang province and Ha Noi City at VND 56,000 per kilogram.

In North Central Coast and Central Highlands, live pork prices today also have no change compared to yesterday.

The live pork price is the highest as VND 55,000 per kilogram in Thua Thien Hue, Quang Ngai, Ninh Thuan provinces.

The lowest live pork price is VND 53,000 per kilogram in Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Binh Thuan provinces.

In the South, live pork prices keep the lowest level in the country.

After a VND 1,000 increase, the live pork price in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province is VND 52,000 per kilogram, the same in Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh provinces and Ho Chi Minh City.

The highest price of VND 53,000 per kilogram is in Long An, Vinh Long and Can Tho province.

Live pork prices in the remaining provinces are ranging from VND 52,000 to VND 53,000 per kilogram.

White shrimp prices

In Bac Lieu and Ca Mau provinces, white shrimp prices today, August 16, are up in some types compared to yesterday.

Specifically, 20 head-sized white shrimp prices are VND 200,000-220,000 per kilogram, increasing by VND 3,000.

25 head-sized white shrimp prices are VND 155,000-160,000 per kilogram, increasing by VND 3,000.

30 head-sized white shrimp prices are VND 132,000-134,000 per kilogram, increasing by VND 2,000.

40 head-sized white shrimp prices are VND 115,000-115,000 per kilogram, increasing by VND 2,000.

50 head-sized white shrimp prices is VND 97,000-98,000 per kilogram, increasing by VND 2,000.

60 head-sized white shrimp prices are VND 87,500-88,500 per kilogram.

Pangasius prices

In the past three months, the price of pangasius and breeds has decreased by 30-50% in the Mekong Delta due to the export market facing many difficulties. According to the Vietnam Pangasius Association, in the first two months of the year, pangasius prices were at high about VND 30,000-31,000 per kilogram, but now only VND 20,500-22,500.

In Dong Thap, An Giang, Can Tho and Hau Giang provinces, pangasius prices today, August 16, are VND 21,000-22,000 per kilogram, unchanged compared to yesterday.

Prices for 30-35 head-sized pangasius breeds are VND 25,000-30,000 per kilogram, increasing by VND 7,000-10,000 compared to last month. However, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), the pangasius breed prices must be VND 40,000-50,000 per kilogram, so pangasius breed producers are profitable.

Pangasius is one of the key export products of the seafood industry. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, pangasius's export turnover in 2021 is estimated at US$ 2-2.2 billion. Currently, Vietnamese pangasius products are present in 125 markets. The main markets are China, the United States, the EU, and ASEAN countries.

Snakehead prices

In Dong Thap, An Giang, and Tra Vinh provinces, snakehead prices today, August 16, are VND 47,000-48,000 per kilogram, are unchanged compared to yesterday, but increase by VND 10,000-15,000 compared to the same period of last year.

Prices for 500-700 head-sized snakehead breeds are VND 200-300 per head, unchanged compared to yesterday.

Red tilapia prices

In Dong Thap, An Giang, Vinh Long and Hau Giang provinces, red tilapia prices today, August 16, are VND 34,000-35,000 per kilogram, unchanged compared to yesterday.

Prices for 30-40 head-sized red tilapia breeds are VND 22,000-25,000 per kilogram, unchanged compared to yesterday.

Bronze featherback prices

In Dong Thap, An Giang, Vinh Long and Hau Giang provinces, bronze featherback prices today, August 16, are VND 45,000-46,000 per kilogram.

Prices for 200 head-sized bronze featherback breeds are VND 1,600 per head, unchanged compared to yesterday.
