Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee, De Heus Group (Netherlands) and Hung Nhon Group, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on surveying, researching and investing in a number of agricultural projects and high-tech applications in Tay Ninh province.

Accordingly, in association with De Heus, Hung Nhon plans to invest in building projects in the field of high-tech agriculture with a total investment of about VND 2,500 billion. The project includes items such as a high-tech application of livestock complex, a high-tech agricultural cultivation area, a slaughterhouse and processing of livestock products, an animal feed material area, and a breeding research centre.

The fact that Hung Nhon poured investment capital into a "terrible" project in Tay Ninh shows that this is a locality with great potential for agriculture, especially high-tech agriculture. In fact, the potential and advantages of Tay Ninh have been recognized and evaluated objectively by domestic and foreign delegates attending the forum.

According to Mr Gabor Fluit, President of the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham), Tay Ninh has a strategic position in the southern key economic region with the role of connecting with the Cambodian market. Tay Ninh's role will increase even more strongly in the coming time when the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway is put into use.

With abundant land resources, Tay Ninh offers many attractive investment opportunities, including agribusiness projects, high-value crops, aquaculture, food processing, and large-scale livestock production,...

Deputy Minister of MARD Phung Duc Tien also made an objective assessment of Tay Ninh's agriculture. According to the Deputy Minister, Tay Ninh has unique and favourable natural conditions for the development of the agricultural economy and a number of industries.

These are conditions to bring into full play the potential and advantages and strive to build Tay Ninh basically into a hi-tech agricultural province.

Realizing the goal

Sharing with investors, Mr Nguyen Thanh Ngoc, Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee, said: Tay Ninh has identified four strategic breakthroughs, in which the development of high-tech agriculture along the value chain is one of the important breakthroughs. It contributes to speeding up the process of restructuring the agricultural and rural economy towards multi-value integration, inclusiveness and sustainable development.

“The announcement of the local development strategy for agriculture by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee is one of the breakthroughs. It not only helps investors in the agricultural sector feel confident but also creates more motivation for us to make a big investment in Tay Ninh”, Mr. Vu Manh Hung, Chairman and General Director of Hung Nhon Group said.

Mr Vu Manh Hung, Vice Chairman of VIDA, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hung Nhon Group, spoke at the Forum.

Talking about the investment decision in Tay Ninh, Mr Vu Manh Hung said, in addition to the favourable factors of geographical location, and natural conditions, Tay Ninh has a great advantage as a staff of sincere and enthusiastic people for the homeland.

In the process of looking for investment opportunities, we always receive maximum support from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to departmental officials, "said Mr Hung.

It is known that before signing an investment commitment in Tay Ninh, Hung Nhon had a series of investment projects in the Southeast and Central Highlands provinces with a capital of up to tens of thousands of billion VND. One of them is a joint venture model with De Heus to establish a high-tech agricultural complex DHN.

According to Mr Hung, the DHN joint venture between De Heus and Hung Nhon aims to reach a capacity of about 10,000 breeding pigs by 2030 in the Central Highlands. Additionally, there will also be 200,000 commercial sows in the Southeast, South Central and Central Highlands; 58 million breeder chickens and 25 million broiler chickens in Tay Ninh.

“From the success and experience gained in cooperation with businesses belonging to EuroCham, I would like to contribute my little effort to the agriculture of Vietnam in general and Tay Ninh in particular. It is hoped that through this project, Tay Ninh will become the leading locality in the country in applying high technology to production", Mr Hung expected.

In addition to the above signed minutes, Mr Vu Manh Hung - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Digital Agriculture Association (VIDA) represented VIDA. He signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee, VIDA and EuroCham on the implementation of digital technology for agro-products in the market of Tay Ninh province.

Under the agreement, VIDA supports connecting with departments in the field of agriculture to easily access information on local producers and agro-products; EuroCham supports connecting domestic and foreign partners in the field of agriculture.
