Latest Arabica and Robusta prices on January 14, 2025
Global coffee prices experienced mixed movements on January 14, 2025, with London marking a second consecutive decline due to negative impacts from last Friday's data.
Data from the General Department of Vietnam Customs revealed that Vietnam's coffee exports in December surged, doubling the previous month to reach 127,655 tons. However, this figure remains 38.5% lower than the same period in 2023.
Meanwhile, on the New York exchange, Arabica prices continued their upward trend, buoyed by reports of drought in Brazil. Meteorological agency Somar Meteorologia reported that Brazil's largest Arabica-growing region, Minas Gerais, received only 29.6mm of rain last week, equivalent to 31% of the historical average.
Traders noted that the market's main focus remains on the scale of Brazil's upcoming harvest, which is expected to depend heavily on the damage caused by last year's drought. They also added that increasing exchange stock levels could help restrain prices.
Thus, global coffee prices on January 14, 2025, exhibited uneven movements compared to the previous day.
In Vietnam, domestic coffee prices on January 14 dropped significantly by VND 1,000 compared to the previous day.
