Latest Arabica and Robusta prices on February 6, 2025,
Global coffee prices today continued their strong upward momentum on both exchanges. This marks the 10th consecutive increase for Arabica, making it the longest price rally since 1980. The March Arabica futures contract is now trading at a record high of nearly $4 per pound after doubling in value over the past year.
The supply shortage from Brazil, the world's leading Arabica producer, is causing concern among traders. These worries have intensified as Brazil recorded record-high exports at the start of the season, reducing the availability of coffee in the market.
According to Reuters, the price surge is supported by forecasts that Brazil’s output will decline in the upcoming crop season. However, analysts also believe that the market now has its own momentum, as buying activity from some speculators has triggered further participation from others.
Additionally, there are broader concerns among traders that U.S. President Donald Trump may impose trade tariffs on South American countries, which play a crucial role in coffee production.
Thus, global coffee prices on February 6, 2025, have surged compared to yesterday.
