Latest Arabica and Robusta prices on February 5, 2025
Global coffee prices today saw a slight increase on both exchanges. Arabica continued its upward trend, while Robusta showed a mild recovery.
According to Reuters, Arabica prices have risen for nine consecutive sessions, reaching a new record. The rally is driven by roasters scrambling to secure supplies, while Brazilian farmers remain reluctant to sell.
In Brazil, where 85% of the 2024/25 crop has already been sold, concerns are mounting over low stock levels and the sector's ability to meet domestic and export demand in the next six months.
Notably, certified Arabica stocks on the ICE exchange dropped to 867,582 bags last Friday, down from nearly one million bags just weeks ago.
Traders report that more investors are flocking to the coffee market, pushing roasters into panic buying, while farmers delay sales in hopes of even higher prices.
The Brazilian real also surged to a two-and-a-half-month high against the USD on February 4, reducing selling pressure from coffee producers.
"The target this week is the $ 4/pound mark", one trader commented.
Thus, global coffee prices on February 5, 2025, recorded a slight increase compared to yesterday.
In Vietnam, domestic coffee prices rose slightly by VND 200 compared to yesterday.
