Latest domestic and global coffee prices as of December 16, 2024
Globally, both the London and New York exchanges remain stable on December 16.
Specifically, Robusta prices on the London exchange for January 2025 delivery are steady at $ 5,209/ton, while March 2025 contracts also remain unchanged at $ 5,184/ton.
Meanwhile, on the New York exchange, Arabica prices for March 2025 delivery stand at 319.50 cents/lb, and May 2025 contracts hold at 317.05 cents/lb.
Latest Arabica and Robusta prices as of December 16, 2024
Globalcoffee prices remained stable today. Last week, the coffee market showed mixed trends, with Robusta January 2025 contracts increasing by $ 56/ton, while Arabica March contracts dropped sharply by 10.75 cents/lb.
Both exchanges experienced a volatile week with a wide trading range. Reports from Volcafe indicating a lower-yield coffee crop in Brazil triggered price spikes. Although Brazil's coffee plants are merely in the late flowering stage, and it is too early to determine the harvest, production forecasts during this tense market period have proven highly sensitive.
Another factor driving the increase is a report from Vietnam's General Department of Customs, showing that Vietnam's coffee exports in November dropped by 47% year-over-year to 63,019 tons, with year-to-date exports down 14% to 1.22 million tons. Lower supply from Vietnam has supported Robusta's recovery.
Experts note that this week, the coffee market will be influenced by the Federal Reserve's weekend meeting.
Thus, global coffee prices on December 16, 2024, remain unchanged compared to yesterday.
Domestically, coffee prices on December 16 remain flat compared to yesterday.
Specifically, in Lam Dong province, Di Linh, Bao Loc, and Lam Ha districts are trading at VND 123,500/kg.
