At the meeting, Mrs. Dang Huynh Uc My, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Thanh Thanh Cong - Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company (TTC AgriS) (HOSE: SBT), presented the company's development strategy and expressed her commitment to contributing to the development of the province. She affirmed that Tay Ninh will become the headquarters of the international agricultural solutions center in Vietnam, thereby opening connections to the entire Southeast Asia region.
An overview of the meeting and working session between the provincial leaders of Tay Ninh and the management team of TTC AgriS.
TTC AgriS is currently in the process of establishing a one-stop international agricultural solution center, with the aim of connecting experts, transferring technology, and sharing best practices in precision farming from Queensland, Australia, to Tay Ninh. This initiative positions Tay Ninh as the main headquarters for the center in Vietnam, where it will play a pivotal role in the transfer, production, and supply of agricultural goods and services from Australia to Southeast Asia, all under a framework of smart and sustainable practices.
The strategy also encompasses the development of the Thành Long model farm, which will adhere to high-tech and sustainable agricultural standards inspired by Australia. This farm is projected to span 616 hectares and involves a significant investment of 4.6 million USD in technology, with plans for completion by 2027.
In discussing the rationale behind selecting Australia for technology transfer, the Chairwoman of TTC AgriS highlighted Australia’s status as a leading high-tech agricultural powerhouse, which contributes a substantial portion to its national economy. This strategic decision was made early in the company’s transformation and development journey, as Mrs. Uc My identified Australia as an ideal partner for expanding raw material sources and advancing high-tech agricultural research aimed at benefiting not only Vietnam but also neighboring countries such as Laos and Cambodia, as well as facilitating global trade.
During her appearances at various international forums and conferences, including the Australia Investment Forum in August 2023 and the CEO Forum at the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit 2024, Mrs. Uc My has consistently underscored the immense potential of sustainable smart agricultural value chains. She also emphasized the vital trade and investment opportunities that exist between Vietnam and Australia, advocating for stronger collaboration to enhance agricultural practices and market access in both regions.
In 2022, as part of her strategy to expand raw material sources beyond the borders of Vietnam, Ms. My engaged in direct discussions with the Queensland government in Australia to develop a bilateral cooperation plan focused on 4.0 agriculture. This initiative aims to establish a vast 20,000 hectares of raw material cultivation in Queensland. To date, over 1,600 hectares have already been put into cultivation, and efforts are underway to expand this area further.
Additionally, Mrs. My has worked closely with Farmacist, a consulting company specializing in agriculture with more than 140 years of experience in Queensland. This collaboration involves exchanging knowledge and improving sugarcane cultivation techniques, as well as organizing model farms that utilize modern machinery and implement precision farming practices.
In response to the Chairwoman's directives to enhance management capabilities, all members, offices, and raw material regions of TTC AgriS operating across four countries - Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Australia - have collectively agreed to adopt an internationally standardized workflow system.
With a focus on high-tech agriculture, TTC AgriS's raw material region in Tay Ninh has been mechanized and is implementing precision farming techniques to enhance both productivity and the quality of agricultural products.
Accessing green credit and international technical support at the local level is also a key focus. As part of its upcoming initiatives, the company plans to facilitate and organize numerous trade and investment activities that will foster collaboration between Tay Ninh province and Queensland, Australia.
Mrs. My highlighted the importance of green finance as a cornerstone for sustainable agricultural development and the broader agricultural economy. She asserts that such financial mechanisms not only help reduce emissions but also play a vital role in global environmental protection. Thanks to its focus on sustainable development, TTC AgriS has positioned itself as an attractive destination for major financial institutions. The company actively works to standardize its management capabilities to meet international norms and integrates ESG (environmental, social, governance) criteria into all its operations.
With a solid background in finance and a proven ability to forge strategic international relationships, Ms. My has successfully mobilized hundreds of millions of USD in green financing for TTC AgriS. This influx of stable capital is enabling the company to expand its activities into international markets, thereby contributing to the elevation of the Vietnamese agricultural brand on the global stage.
During a recent meeting, provincial leaders highlighted that, in alignment with the approved planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision extending to 2050, Tay Ninh is set to become a province characterized by a developed economy founded on clean industry and high-tech agriculture. The province aims to enhance its trade and tourism sectors, positioning itself as an international trade gateway for the Southeast region and for the entire country.
In the agricultural domain, the province is actively advancing mechanization and the integration of science and technology across all stages of production. Efforts are being made to bolster cooperation and promote investment, both domestically and internationally. As part of this strategy, the provincial government is committed to supporting and fostering a conducive environment for all businesses involved in green, clean and smart agriculture in the region.
With respect to TTC AgriS's development plans, provincial leaders have expressed their strong support and commitment to collaborating with the company to enhance its production and business activities. This partnership is designed to help the company achieve its outlined goals, which include ensuring stable incomes for farmers, improving their living standards, and increasing export revenues for the province. Moreover, the leaders have instructed relevant departments and agencies to provide more detailed guidance and support for the various projects and proposals submitted by TTC AgriS, ensuring that these initiatives are implemented in a timely and effective manner.
On October 15, Mrs. Dang Huynh Uc My visited the field with agricultural enterprises collaborating with TTC AgriS to explore and discuss the implementation of new farming solutions.
Mrs. Uc My stated: "The development plan of TTC AgriS has numerous correlations and fits well within the planning framework of Tay Ninh. This alignment creates a solid foundation for the company to contribute significantly to the province's breakthroughs". She further emphasized: "We are committed to strengthening our collaboration and advancing together with Tay Ninh across multiple sectors. This includes a particular focus on high-tech agriculture, scientific and technological innovation, as well as developments in the economic, cultural, and social domains".
