Tay Ninh has become a new attractive investment destination

(VAN) Despite the national economy facing many challenges, domestic investment in Tay Ninh has increased fourfold compared to the same period last year.

Bright prospects for the agricultural sector

Tay Ninh is located in the key economic region of southern Vietnam, featuring flat terrain and a temperate climate with minimal impact from natural disasters.

Notably, it is one of the rare localities in the Southeast region with ample land reserves for development, along with a comprehensively invested transportation system and a relatively complete irrigation system. All these factors create favourable conditions for attracting investment in general and in the agricultural sector in particular.

Despite the national economy facing many challenges, Tay Ninh attracted over VND 2,450 billion in domestic investment in the first quarter of 2024, a fourfold increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Mr Nguyen Dinh Xuan, Director of the Tay Ninh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, expressed his enthusiasm, stating that Tay Ninh is currently focusing on agricultural development, particularly in the area of clean agriculture through the application of high technology. This approach aims to increase the productivity, quality, and market competitiveness of agricultural products. This initiative is one of the key and breakthrough programs for the agricultural sector and Tay Ninh province as a whole.

As evidence of this, along with other economic sectors, the local agricultural industry is on a rapid and correct development path, showcasing a bright outlook. Notably, Tay Ninh leads the nation in cassava production and processing. Processing enterprises in the province not only use locally sourced raw materials but also import materials to produce high-value export products.

The livestock sector is also experiencing robust growth, with many large-scale farm projects housing over 10,000 animals each. The application of science and technology in livestock farming is widespread, ensuring environmental protection and reducing disease outbreaks.

Notably, Dinh Khue Co., Ltd. in Suoi Day commune (Tan Chau district) has grown from a small manual cassava kiln to one of the largest factories in Tay Ninh province. With advanced European-standard technology, Dinh Khue's cassava starch products meet food safety standards both in Vietnam and internationally.

Amidst many cassava industry enterprises facing numerous challenges, Dinh Khue stands out as a bright spot, contributing to maintaining stable export turnover and enhancing the value of Vietnamese cassava in both domestic and international markets. In addition to the domestic market, Dinh Khue exports products to China, several Asian countries, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, the EU, Japan, and more, with average annual revenue exceeding VND 400 billion.

"With a consumption capacity of 280 tons of fresh cassava per day to stabilize production, the company has partnered early with local authorities and farmers to build a raw material region. In addition to purchasing from individual producers, Dinh Khue collaborates with local authorities, especially with farmers, women’s associations, and cooperatives to provide seedlings, fertilizers, and technical support, and to purchase all products. This ensures a clean, abundant input supply for production," said Nguyen Thi Khue, Director of Dinh Khue Co., Ltd.

Recently, the high-tech DHN livestock farming project worth VND 2,500 billion was officially launched in Tay Ninh. This is the result of a collaboration between the Hung Nhon Group and the De Heus Group joint venture, representing a model of cooperation between two leading agricultural groups from Vietnam and the Netherlands.

Vu Manh Hung, Chairman and CEO of Hung Nhon Group, stated that the project's goal is to produce poultry breeds and raise chickens with a capacity of 20 million eggs per year. Phases 1 and 2 of the DHN Tay Ninh High-Tech Livestock Farming Project include building a breeding chicken farm, a grandparent breeding pig farm, and a broiler chicken farm for export.

Additionally, alongside the livestock farm complex, the DHN Tay Ninh joint venture is swiftly completing the procedures to build a closed-loop food processing plant to complete the high-tech farming chain model.

"Apart from the advantageous geographical location and agricultural development potential, the enthusiastic support from provincial leaders and local departments and agencies is a driving force for DHN Tay Ninh to complete the project on schedule. Currently, DHN Tay Ninh is also simultaneously launching seven projects as part of phase 2," emphasized Nguyen Manh Hung.

Many strategic directions

According to the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee, summarizing the achievements, Tay Ninh plans to organize an Investment Promotion Conference in 2024 to boost investment attraction activities, promote trade, enhance linkages in the production and consumption chain, and strengthen connections between production enterprises and product consumers. At the same time, the province will promote tourism activities, and advertise the image and brand of Tay Ninh tourism to establish a civilized and professional local tourism ecosystem.

Tay Ninh Province recently held a ceremony to announce the Tay Ninh Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, which has been approved by the Prime Minister.

According to the plan, infrastructure, human resources, institutions, small and medium-sized enterprises, sustainable economic development ("Green Tay Ninh"), and more are the seven strategic breakthroughs for developing Tay Ninh. To achieve this, Tay Ninh will build "three development zones, four driving force axes, and one social welfare belt."

Tay Ninh aims to become a dynamic, civilized locality with a good living environment, well-adapted to climate change, and a desirable destination to live and visit by 2030. By 2050, the vision is for Tay Ninh to have a developed economy based on clean industry and high-tech agriculture, with developed commerce and tourism, and to become an international trade gateway for the Southeast region and the entire country. The province aims to have an effective public administration system, a friendly business environment, and an attractive living environment based on a sustainable and diverse ecosystem.

Accordingly, industry and tourism services will continue to be the main drivers of growth, linked with the development of new spaces, making Tay Ninh one of the industrial and tourism service centres of the Southeast region and the entire country.

In the field of agriculture, Tay Ninh focuses on developing 20 concentrated agricultural production zones applying high technology in the districts of Tan Chau, Duong Minh Chau, Tan Bien, Go Dau, Chau Thanh, and the town of Trang Bang. These zones will be developed according to the value chain approach, ensuring quality and efficiency to meet international standards.
