On May 14, the press conference was jointly organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee, Royal De Heus (Netherlands), and Hung Nhon Group.
The conference was co-chaired by Mr. Tran Van Chien, Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Long, General Director of the Department of Animal Health under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; Mr. Gabor Fluit, CEO Asia at Royal De Heus; Mr. Vu Manh Hung, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Digital Agriculture Association, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hung Nhon Group.
At the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Long emphasized the importance of disease-free zones in the development of the agricultural sector, particularly in livestock production. According to the regulations of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), the export of animal products must strictly comply with the criteria and regulations pertaining to disease-free zones.
"As an exporter, we must comply with these regulations. The establishment of disease-free zones has been an ongoing effort in Vietnam, complemented by positive results in the export of livestock products. To date, Vietnamese pork products have been exported to various markets worldwide, including South Korea and Hong Kong. Additionally, our chicken products have been exported to Japan," reported Mr. Nguyen Van Long.
Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Chien noted that the provice has acknowledged the importance of establishing disease-free zones in implementing livestock development strategies. Consequently, Tay Ninh's agricultural sector will aim to restructure its production processes; promote the establishment of disease-free livestock zones; encourage local businesses to invest in high-tech slaughterhouses for livestock and poultry; diversify market consumption; and develop multiple livestock and slaughter value chains with a focus on high technology.
During the press conference, Mr. Gabor Fluit provided insights into the Netherlands' experience in establishing disease-free zones in compliance with OIE's definitions. Consequently, the CEO Asia at Royal De Heus aims to assist Vietnam in safely exporting meat products to other countries, and avoiding trade barriers raised by food safety regulations. "The successful establishment of disease-free zones will enable Vietnam to export pork products to Japan, South Korea, and even chicken breast to Europe. The value of chicken breast in the European market is currently two to three times higher than that in Vietnam," Mr. Gabor Fluit analyzed.
In addition to the announcement of Tay Ninh province's disease-free zones, the organizing committee revealed additional details regarding a series of simultaneous events scheduled for May 19, including: the inauguration ceremony of the DHN Tay Ninh High-Tech Livestock Production Area; the announcement of seven key agricultural investment projects from 2025 to 2030; and the announcement of the plan to export poultry products to the Halal market. This series of events is a part of the program to commemorate the 12th Tay Ninh Provincial Party Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term.
According to Mr. Vu Manh Hung, this series of events in Tay Ninh will be an momentous occasion, marked by several highlights. Firstly, its impressive scale is represented in the announcement of seven key agricultural investment projects from 2025 to 2030. Secondly, the series will feature a multi-sided connectivity activity, involving seven subsidiary focal points connected to a single main focal point.
Regarding the participants of the series of events on May 19, Mr. Vu Manh Hung, representing the organizing committee, disclosed an expected turnout of approximately 1,000 delegates and guests. This is poised to be the largest and most globally significant event series to date in the agricultural sector of Tay Ninh province as well as the Southeastern region. Notably, the distinguished guests will include leaders from both central and local authorities, encompassing representatives from the Government; Government Office; Commission for Information and Education, Central Committee’s Economic Commission, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; the local governments of Tay Nguyen and Southeastern provinces. Additionally, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and various provincial departments and agencies in Tay Ninh are expected to be in attendance.

According to the organizing committee, the event series is also expecting the attendance of Ambassadors, Consuls General, and Commercial Attachés from Australia, the United States, Canada, Denmark, Hungary, Spain, Portugal, Italy, China, Mongolia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Cambodia. Various organizations including EuroCham, AmCham, AusCham, KoCham, FAO, JICA, JETRO, WB, USAID, ADB, and EIB will also be present at the event series. Notably, the event series will see the participation of numerous leading businesses from Muslim-majority countries (Halal).
In addition to the main event series, a signing ceremony will be organized for two Memoranda of Understanding between Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee, Hung Nhon Group, Royal De Heus, and partners. These MoUs cover various collaborative activities, including: conducting surveys and investing in the construction of modern high-tech hatcheries; establishing high-tech livestock farms; supplying breeding ducks and duck meat products; implementing cooperation plans; establishing and developing production chains, supplying Halal-certified poultry products to international markets and Muslim-majority countries.
According to Mr. Vu Manh Hung, the series of events scheduled for May 19 will be the "launchpad" for a new cooperation strategy between Hung Nhon Group and De Heus. Accordingly, the two businesses, along with their subsidiaries, will establish the De Heus - Hung Nhon value chain. The spearhead of this value chain, De Heus and Hung Nhon Group, will be joined by a network of affiliated businesses including DHN, Bel Gà, Green Chicken, Visakan, Big Dutchman, and Bio Agritech HN. This partnership model, also known as the "from farm to table" model, represents a popular development trend pursued by many global corporations. Furthermore, this model is expected to generate a significant revenue stream by 2030.
During the press conference, representatives from De Heus and Hung Nhon Group made an important announcement regarding the DHN Charity Fund. Accordingly, Ms. Vu Le Dan Thuy, Director of Foreign Affairs at the Hung Nhon Group, was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Fund. Additionally, Miss Vietnam 2020 Do Thi Ha will assume the role of official ambassador. The DHN Charity Fund, with a budget of 30 billion Vietnamese dong, is dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged individuals by providing impoverished families with access to clean food, maintaining food safety and hygiene standards, and organizing regular health examinations.
