In the world market, coffee prices today, August 13, change oppositely in two large exchanges.
After the latest session, the Robusta coffee futures price in ICE Futures Europe (London) exchange for September 2021 contracts is down by US$ 10 per ton at US$ 1,849 per ton and down by US$ 10 per ton at US$ 1,854 per ton for November 2021 contracts.
Conversely, the Arabica coffee futures price in ICE Futures US (New York) for September 2021 contracts is up by Cent 2.65 per pound at Cent 186.5 per pound and up by Cent 2.6 per pound at Cent 189.6 per pound for December 2021 contracts.
In the domestic market, coffee prices today, August 13, turn to decrease slightly by VND 100 in most key provinces compared to yesterday morning, in the range of VND 36,800-37,700 per kilogram.
Specifically, coffee prices today in Di Linh, Bao Loc, and Lam Ha districts of Lam Dong province are the same at VND 36,800 per kilogram, a VND 100 decrease.
In Dak Lak province, coffee prices are VND 37,600-37,700 per kilogram, a VND 100 decrease.
In Dak Nong, Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces, coffee is purchased at VND 37,600-37,500 per kilogram.
In the world market, pepper prices today, August 13, at Kochi exchange (India), move sideways compared to the latest session, at INR 41,300 per quintal.
In the domestic market, pepper prices keep increasing by VND 500 in some provinces, ranging from VND 76,500-79,500.
Specifically, the pepper price in Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces is at VND 78,000.
In Dong Nai province, the pepper price is VND 76,500 per kilogram.
The pepper price in Gia Lai province is VND 78,000 per kilogram, a VND 500 increase.
The pepper price in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province keeps at the highest of VND 79,500, followed by the price at Binh Phuoc at VND 78,500 per kilogram, after a VND 500 increase.
In the world market, turn to decrease in exchanges compared to the latest session.
In Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM), the futures rubber price for August 2021 contracts is down by JPY 0.3 at JPY 211.0 per kilogram, down by JPY 1.5 at JPY 212.7 per kilogram for September 2021 contracts, and down by JPY 2.2 at JPY 215.3 per kilogram for October 2021 contracts.
Likewise, in Shanghai Commodity Futures Exchange (SHFE), the futures rubber price for August 2021 contracts are down by CNY 75 at CNY 13,500 per ton, down by CNY 110 at CNY 13,490 per ton for September 2021 contracts, and down by CNY 110 at CNY 13,570 per ton for October 2021 contracts.
According to the Malaysian Rubber Products Manufacturers Association (MRPMA), the Covid-19 pandemic has caused an unprecedented crisis in the rubber sector.
Covid-19 caused an annual production decline for rubber products, including auto parts, tires, and tire-related products. It could even be doubled if the resumption of production is delayed any further.
In the domestic, rubber prices are stable compared to yesterday.
Fresh rubber latex prices in Binh Phuoc province range from VND 310-335 per TSC-DRC.
