Mr Nguyen Quy Duong, Deputy Director of the Plant Protection Department (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), shared that the global pepper market is in a price surge cycle. By 2024, the price of pepper has doubled compared to previous periods, providing strong incentives for farmers to invest heavily in pepper cultivation.
Thanks to the high prices, pepper farmers are enjoying good income this year. However, this crop is also facing significant challenges such as climate change, increasing pest problems, competition from other crops, and rising production costs.
Thus, pepper prices on November 28, 2024, globally remain stable compared to yesterday.

To develop pepper as a focused commodity industry, localities have implemented specific guidelines for the development of the pepper sector through resolutions, projects, programs, and concrete plans.
These efforts focus on improving product quality, linking with storage, processing, and consumption along the value chain. They also emphasize advancing technical applications and high-tech in production and forming raw material regions to meet market demands.
Thus, domestic pepper prices are trading between VND 140,000/kg and VND 142,200/kg.
