The unpredictable weather, droughts, heavy rains, and fluctuating temperatures pose challenges for farmers in Vietnam. These factors increase the investment costs in irrigation and pest prevention to maintain productivity.
Additionally, during periods when pepper prices were low, many farmers switched to more profitable crops such as durian and coffee, which reduced the area and total production of pepper.
Thus, domestic pepper prices on November 26, 2024, are trading around VND 140,000 - 141,000/kg.
