Pepper prices on November 26 globally

Worldwide, pepper prices on November 26 are seeing a strong increase in Indonesia.

Specifically, the price of Lampung black pepper in Indonesia rose by 2.46%, reaching $ 6,624/ton. Meanwhile, Muntok white pepper from the country increased by 1.06%, hitting $ 9,139/ton.

Kuching ASTA black pepper in Malaysia is priced at $ 8,400/ton, while the country's ASTA white pepper is at $ 10,500/ton.

In Brazil, ASTA 570 black pepper is trading at $ 6,000/ton.

In Vietnam, the export price for 500 g/l black pepper stands at $ 6,200/ton, while the 550 g/l variety is priced at $ 6,500/ton. Export white pepper is currently at $ 9,400/ton.

Global pepper prices today have sharply increased in Indonesia but remain unchanged in other countries.

Thus, global pepper prices on November 26, 2024, have risen strongly in Indonesia compared to the previous day.

Ba Ria - Vung Tau's pepper price is at VND 141,000/kg;

Meanwhile, traders in Binh Phuoc are trading pepper at VND 140,000/kg.

Domestic pepper prices today continue to rise, pushing the commodity to reach VND 141,000/kg.

In the first 10 months of this year, pepper exports have generated over $ 1.1 billion, and it is estimated that by the end of 2024, the total export value could reach $ 1.4 billion. The Vietnamese pepper and spice industry aims to become a source of high-quality spices, sustainably produced, with traceability records, and meet the regulations of importing countries.

The unpredictable weather, droughts, heavy rains, and fluctuating temperatures pose challenges for farmers in Vietnam. These factors increase the investment costs in irrigation and pest prevention to maintain productivity.

Additionally, during periods when pepper prices were low, many farmers switched to more profitable crops such as durian and coffee, which reduced the area and total production of pepper.

Thus, domestic pepper prices on November 26, 2024, are trading around VND 140,000 - 141,000/kg.
