With these achievements in 2024, Vietnam continues to solidify its position as the world’s leading pepper exporter.
However, to maintain this position, improving product quality and increasing its value are key factors.
Experts point out that the Vietnamese pepper industry is currently facing numerous challenges, including adverse weather, rising production costs, and diseases, while the area of pepper cultivation is decreasing due to crop restructuring. Nevertheless, with low stock levels and the forecasted delay in the 2025 harvest due to prolonged drought, pepper prices are expected to rise in the near future.
Thus, domestic pepper prices on January 4, 2024, are trading around VND 147,000 - 149,500/kg.
