Global coffee prices showed a slight increase on the London exchange but experienced mixed movements on the New York exchange.

According to the latest forecast from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), global coffee production is expected to recover in the 2024/25 crop year, primarily driven by increased production in Vietnam and Indonesia. Meanwhile, with rising consumption, global coffee stock levels are projected to decline further by the end of 2024, reaching just 20.9 million bags.

Global coffee exports in 2025 are anticipated to grow modestly, with higher export volumes from Vietnam and Indonesia offsetting Brazil's projected decline.

Specifically, Vietnam's coffee exports are forecast to increase by 1.8 million bags in 2025, reaching 24.4 million bags due to improved supply. Global coffee consumption in 2025 is projected to rise by 5.1 million bags, reaching 168.1 million bags, with the largest increases seen in the European Union (EU), the United States, and China.

Thus, global coffee prices on January 7, 2025, experienced mild fluctuations compared to the previous day.
