Global coffee prices surged today. Notably, the New York exchange recorded its 13th consecutive gain and set a new peak, rising by more than 6%.

The main reason is that coffee farmers in Brazil, the world’s top producer, are not yet willing to sell, while roasters continue to face supply shortages and seek additional purchases. The market is increasingly concerned about low stock levels in Brazil, which supplies nearly half of the world’s Arabica coffee.

"Some believe that Brazil’s next harvest will be better than expected—not significantly higher than last year, but enough to provide a slightly more optimistic outlook," said Icona Cafe.
