Latest Arabica and Robusta prices on February 7, 2025
Global coffee prices today showed a slight decline on the London exchange but continued their strong rally on the New York exchange.
Robusta prices are facing some pressure due to increased exports from Vietnam. According to data from the General Statistics Office, Vietnam exported 134,000 tons of coffee in January 2025, up 5% from the previous month, despite trade activities being somewhat affected by the Lunar New Year holiday.
Meanwhile, Arabica prices continue to set new records. Arabica futures in New York have surpassed the $ 4/lb mark, reaching a historic high after 11 consecutive bullish sessions, driven by relentless speculative buying amid tight supply.
A trader commented: "What many considered mere speculation has become a reality. Coffee is making history."
According to Tomas Araujo, a broker at StoneX, this surge is the result of multiple factors: speculative buying, roasters unwinding their positions, and traders removing hedging measures.
