The world market

Today, 19 July, coffee prices continued to increase on both major London and New York exchanges.

At the end of the latest trading session, the Robusta coffee spot price in London for September 2021 increased by US$ 11 per ton at US$ 1,767 per ton, and it is in November 2021 increased by US$ 6 per ton at US$ 1,756 per ton.

Meanwhile, the Arabica coffee spot price in September 2021 increased by Cent 4.3 per pound at Cent 161.35 per pound, and it is in December 2021 increased by Cent 4.2 per pound at Cent 164.1 per pound.

Frost weather forecast in the main producing states in southern Brazil this week is one of the reasons for the sharp increase in Arabica coffee prices.

Robusta coffee prices continued to fluctuate cautiously despite the slowdown in supply from major Robusta producing countries due to logistical problems and high sea freight rates.

Summarizing last week, the London market had three up sessions and two down sessions. As a result, the Robusta coffee spot price for September 2021 increased totally by US$ 23, equivalent to 1.32%, at US$ 1,767 per ton and the spot price for November 2021 increased totally by US$ 34, or 1.97%, at  US$ 1,756 per ton.

The New York market had four up sessions and one down session. The Arabica coffee spot price for September increased Cents 9.85, or 6.50% totally, at Cent 161.35 per pound. The spot price for December increased Cent 9.75, or 5.94% totally, to Cent 164.10 per pound.

On the Kochi exchange, India, pepper prices on July 19, 2021, moved sideways, keeping the price at INR 42,000 per quintal.

The domestic market

Coffee prices in the domestic market moved sideways, trading around VND 35,400-36,300 per kilogram.

Specifically, the purchased coffee prices in Di Linh, Bao Loc and Lam Ha districts of Lam Dong province on July 19 were at VND 35,400 per kilogram.

In Cu M'gar district, Dak Lak province, the coffee price remained at VND 36,300 per kilogram. In Ea H'leo and Buon Ho districts, the coffee prices were at the same VND 36,200 per kilogram.

In Gia Nghia and Dak R'lap, Dak Nong province, the purchased coffee prices were at VND 36,200 and VND 36,100 per kilogram, respectively.

In Chu Prong, Gia Lai province, the coffee price was at VND 36,200 per kilogram. In Pleiku and La Grai, the prices were the same level at VND 36,100 per kilogram. The coffee price in Kon Tum province was being purchased at VND 36,200 per kilogram.

Like coffee, pepper prices on July 19 in the domestic market also continued to move sideways, at VND 72,500-75,500 per kilogram.

In Dong Nai, pepper price remained at VND 73,000 per kilogram. In Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the price was at VND 75,500 per kilogram. In Binh Phuoc province, the price was at VND 74,500 per kilogram.

Pork prices in most provinces less fluctuate, only its prices decrease slightly by VND 1,000-2,000 per kilogram in the North and the South.

Not as stable as coffee and pepper prices, live pork prices in the North on July 19 decreased from VND 1,000-2,000 per kilogram, ranging from  VND 56,000-59,000 per kilogram.

In Vinh Phuc province, the live pork price was at VND 57,000 per kilogram, as the same with Tuyen Quang province.

Pork prices in Yen Bai province also decreased slightly to VND 58,000 per kilogram.

The remaining localities did not record any new changes in prices on July 19.

The pork prices did not change much in the Central region, ranging from 58,000-65,000 VND per kilogram.

The highest purchased live pork price was 65,000 VND per kilogram in Quang Binh province.
