According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, cassava and cassava products exports in 2021 reached 2.87 million tons, valued at USD 1.19 billion, an increase of 2.8 percent in volume and 16.5 percent in value over 2020. In 2021, cassava and cassava products were one of the few agricultural exports that increased in value compared to 2020.
Exports of cassava products alone reached 850.5 thousand tons, valued at USD 222.02 million in 2021, increasing 30.9 percent in volume and 56.9 percent in value from 2020.
Vietnam's cassava and cassava products are mostly sold to Asia, where they represent 98.4 percent of the country's total cassava and cassava product export value.
In 2021, exports of cassava and cassava products to the Asian area were 2.86 million tons, valued at USD 1.16 million, a year-on-year increase of 2.7 percent in volume and 16.6 percent in value.
China is the largest market for Vietnam's cassava and cassava products, accounting for 93.6 percent of overall cassava and cassava product exports by volume and 92.9 percent by value, with 2.69 million tons worth USD 1.1 billion, up 4.1 percent in volume and 18.5 percent in value from 2020.
