Speaking at the launch ceremony, Luu Trung Thai, Chairman of the Board and CEO of MB, emphasized that the initiative—jointly developed by MB and the Navy—represents a strategic effort to green the islands and reinforce their ecological resilience.
“As a pioneering bank in digital transformation and green transformation, MB is committed to contributing VND 160 billion to this program. Of that amount, VND 50 billion will be delivered through direct green financial actions and additional engagement by MB, while the remainder will be mobilized from organizations and individuals through public donations,” Thai said.

“No contribution is too small when it contributes to a meaningful and impactful goal. We deeply value the support of individuals, organizations, and both local and international partners who have joined and will continue to accompany MB in realizing the vision of planting one million trees on Truong Sa,” he added.
The tree-planting effort is expected to provide not just a symbolic green coverage on the nation’s map but also significant ecological benefits for the island. Trees help stabilize sand, prevent erosion, and mitigate the displacement of sand that threatens infrastructure. The green canopy will also foster a livable environment for a variety of species, contributing to ecosystem recovery, biodiversity conservation, and the restoration of natural balance on the islands.
Rows of trees act as "green shields" protecting the island from storms, reducing damage caused by natural disasters. The greenery provides shade, lowers temperatures, creates favorable conditions for agriculture, and improves the quality of life for both soldiers and civilians on the island.

Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Cao Van Son, Deputy Head of Naval Logistics and Engineering, said that MB and its customers and partners have carried out many meaningful and practical activities to support the nation's maritime and island programs, including projects of symbolic significance. One million green trees in Truong Sa will also become such a symbolic project.
The HiGreen Truong Sa program calls for the joint efforts of the community, organizations, and businesses. Let’s work together to green the frontier islands, so that green sprouts can rise from sand and gravel, bringing vitality and hope to Truong Sa.
Besides direct contributions, everyone can participate in the greening journey of Truong Sa through simple actions such as sharing information, spreading the spirit of environmental protection, and joining green activities initiated by the program.
