This activity is part of the program "One Million Trees for the Homeland's Sea and Islands, for a Green Vietnam," initiated by the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Nature and Environment Protection (HANE). It aims to support and contribute to the successful implementation of the Government's One Billion Trees Project and the Central Youth Union's goal of planting 100 million new trees during the 2021 - 2025 period. This is part of the "For a Green Vietnam" action program conducted by HANE in Ho Chi Minh City and other locations.

At the same time, the tree donation ceremony is part of a series of activities in response to World Environment Day, as well as the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Nature and Environment Protection (2009 - 2024).

At the ceremony, organizations, businesses, and individuals who supported the tree donation presented symbolic tree gifts to representatives of the Navy Region 4 Command.

Accordingly, during the 2024 - 2030 period, organizations and individuals, along with the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Nature and Environment Protection, will donate 1.5 million trees to the Navy Region 4 Command and the military and civilians of the Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands. This effort is part of the "Greening Truong Sa" program, aimed at greening the islands, enhancing the living, working, and recreational spaces on the Truong Sa archipelago.
