According to VASEP, two out of 155 companies in India had been called out for the review of exporting goods to the US between February 1, 2019, and January 31, 2020, namely MSA Marines and HN Indigos.
DOC made a preliminary determination that a batch of frozen warm-water shrimp from India is or likely to be sold in the US market at has a lower price than normal during the review period.
According to a preliminary assessment, shrimp from MSA Marines will be subject to an anti-dumping duty of 4.73% while products from HN Indigos will be taxed at 11.36%. Products from 153 other Indian shrimp exporters will be taxed at the same rate of 7.57%.
According to the Southern Shrimp Union (USA), this dumping margin represents the highest price charged to Indian shrimp exporters since the US Department of Commerce completed the first administrative review of the Indian shrimp in 2007.
DOC is projected to issue the final results of the period of review within 120 days since the date this preliminary is announced.
