These days, people in the mountainous district of Huong Hoa (Quang Tri province) are starting to harvest coffee. This year, coffee export productivity is quite high and prices are good, so many coffee farmers are excited.

Coffee is one of the three main long-term industrial crops of Quang Tri province. It is grown concentrated in Huong Hoa district, the main variety is Catimor coffee. Huong Hoa's coffee area currently has more than 3,735 ha, of which the replanting area is more than 151 ha(more than 131 ha of new planting; and 20 ha of restoration). This is one of the key industrial crops and accounts for a large proportion of the total value of agricultural production in the mountainous district of Huong Hoa.

Although this year's weather conditions are unfavourable, since the beginning of the year, the agricultural sector in Huong Hoa district and Quang Tri province has improved technical staff at the facility to guide people on care measures. Consequently, coffee trees grow and develop well.

Currently, coffee in Huong Hoa is in the early harvest stage, expected to yield 10-12 tons/ha, 2 tons/ha higher than in 2022. Coffee selling prices in recent days have ranged from VND 6,000 to 6,500/kg. Along with harvesting, the agricultural industry recommends that farmers take care of coffee and focus on preventing some harmful organisms such as twig blight, anthracnose, rust, and pink fungus. Especially, the industry recommends farmers take good care of coffee gardens after harvest, thereby further improving the productivity and quality of Quang Tri coffee products.
