Latest domestic and global pepper prices as of December 16, 2024
Globally, pepper prices on December 16 remained unchanged.
Accordingly, black pepper from Lampung, Indonesia, is holding steady at $ 6,787/ton. Meanwhile, white pepper from Muntok remains at $ 9,068/ton.
Kuching ASTA black pepper from Malaysia is priced at $ 8,200/ton, while ASTA white pepper from the country is at $ 10,400/ton.
In Brazil, ASTA 570 black pepper is being traded at $ 6,300/ton.
In Vietnam, export prices for black pepper of 500 g/l grade are at $ 6,300/ton, while the 550 g/l grade stands at $ 6,600/ton. White pepper for export is currently at $ 9,400/ton.
Global pepper prices on December 16, 2024, remain stable. Last week, the pepper market showed mixed movements.
Specifically, black pepper from Indonesia increased by 1.3%, Vietnam's export pepper prices rose by 1.1% to 1.6%, and Brazil's black pepper increased slightly by 0.4%. On the other hand, Malaysia's pepper prices remained unchanged, and white pepper from Indonesia saw a slight decline of 0.9%.
According to VPSA, in the first 10 months of 2024, Indonesia exported 44,357 tons of pepper, with a total export value of $ 239.7 million.
Compared to the same period in 2023, export volume increased by 114.2%, and export value increased by 141.3%. Indonesia's exports have been consistently growing month by month, especially in September and October, when exports exceeded 8,000 tons.
Vietnam is the main export market for Indonesian pepper, accounting for 30.2% at 13,409 tons, a 347.3% increase compared to the same period last year. China follows with 15.5%, reaching 6,885 tons, a 76.8% increase; the US holds 14.7% at 6,506 tons, a 109.1% increase; and India represents 10.6%, with 4,709 tons, a 48.7% increase compared to the previous year.
Thus, global pepper prices on December 16, 2024, remain stable compared to yesterday.

Specifically, in Dak Lak, pepper is being bought at VND 146,000/kg.
In Dak Nong, the price is VND 146,200/kg.
In Gia Lai, the price remains at VND 145,000/kg.
In Dong Nai, pepper is being bought at VND 146,000/kg.
In Ba Ria - Vung Tau, the price remains at VND 146,000/kg.
In Binh Phuoc, pepper continues to be bought at VND 146,000/kg.
