Pepper prices on December 13 globally

Globally, pepper prices on December 13 showed no new changes.

Specifically, black pepper from Lampung, Indonesia remained at $ 6,822/ton. White pepper from Muntok stood at USD 9,115/ton.

The price for Kuching ASTA black pepper from Malaysia is $ 8,200/ton, while white ASTA pepper from Malaysia is priced at $ 10,400/ton.

For the Brazilian market, black ASTA 570 pepper is trading at $ 6,250/ton.

In Vietnam, export prices for black pepper, grade 500 g/l, are trading at $ 6,300/ton, while the 550 g/l grade is at $ 6,600/ton. The export price for white pepper is $ 9,400/ton.

Thus, global pepper prices on December 13, 2024, remain stable compared to yesterday.

Pepper prices on December 13 domestically

In the domestic market, pepper prices on December 13 decreased compared to yesterday.

Specifically, in Dak Lak, the purchase price for pepper is VND 145,000/kg, down by VND 2,000.

The price of pepper in Dak Nong today also decreased by VND 2,000, at VND 145,200/kg.

The price of pepper in Gia Lai today also dropped by VND 2,000, falling to VND 143,000/kg.

Traders in Dong Nai are buying pepper at VND 145,000/kg, down by VND 1,000.

Pepper prices in Ba Ria - Vung Tau also decreased by VND 1,000, to VND 145,000/kg.

Meanwhile, traders in Binh Phuoc continue to trade at VND 145,000/kg.

Domestic pepper prices today on December 13, 2024, show Binh Phuoc holding steady, while other key regions have decreased by VND 1,000 - 2,000.

The Agency of Foreign Trade (Ministry of Industry and Trade) stated that the price decrease is due to the remaining stock in the domestic market. Additionally, the structure of supply markets is shifting, with imports now moving from Vietnam to Brazil and Indonesia.

According to VPSA, in the first 11 months of 2024, Vietnam exported 235,335 tons of pepper, with total revenue reaching 1.22 billion USD, a 3.5% decrease in volume but a 46.9% increase in value compared to the same period in 2023.

The US remains the largest consumer of Vietnamese pepper, with exports reaching 67,802 tons, an increase of 41.1% compared to the previous year.

Thus, domestic pepper prices on December 13, 2024, are trading around VND 143,000 - 145,200/kg.
