Domestic and global pepper price updates as of December 15, 2024
On the global market, pepper prices on December 15 remain stable.
Accordingly, the price of black pepper Lampung in Indonesia remains at $ 6,787/ton, while white pepper Muntok is steady at $ 9,068/ton.
The price of Kuching ASTA black pepper in Malaysia is $ 8,200/ton, while white pepper ASTA from this country is priced at $ 10,400/ton.
In the Brazilian market, ASTA 570 black pepper is trading at $ 6,300/ton.
In Vietnam, export prices for black pepper (500 g/l) are at $ 6,300/ton, while black pepper (550 g/l) is priced at $ 6,600/ton. Exported white pepper is trading at $ 9,400/ton.
Global pepper prices today remain unchanged. Summing up this week, the global pepper market has shown mixed trends.
Specifically, the price of black pepper in Indonesia increased by 1.3%; export pepper from Vietnam rose by 1.1-1.6%; and black pepper from Brazil saw a slight increase of 0.4%. On the other hand, pepper from Malaysia remained stable, and white pepper from Indonesia saw a slight decrease of 0.9%.
Mr. Kan Sinoch, Chairman of the Kampot Pepper Promotion Association, stated that exports of Kampot pepper, a product with geographical indication (GI) from Cambodia, have seen a significant decline this year.
According to Mr Kan Sinoch, in 2025, the association members agreed to increase the price of GI and organic GI pepper by $2 to $3/kg to encourage farmers to overcome the challenges caused by climate change.
Thus, global pepper prices today, December 15, 2024, remain unchanged compared to yesterday.
Domestically, pepper prices today continue to rise compared to yesterday.
Specifically, in Dak Lak, the price of pepper remains at VND 146,000/kg.
In Dak Nong, the price increased by VND 200, reaching VND 146,200/kg.
In Gia Lai, the price rose by VND 1,000, trading at VND 145,000D/kg.
Similarly, traders in Dong Nai are purchasing pepper at VND 146,000/kg.
In Ba Ria - Vung Tau, the price also increased by VND 1,000, reaching VND 146,000/kg.
Lastly, traders in Binh Phuoc are buying pepper at VND 146,000/kg, up by VND 1,000.
Thus, domestic pepper prices on December 15, 2024, are trading around VND 145,000 - 146,200/kg.
