Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued the "Plan to implement the Program to stabilize the market for food, foodstuffs, and essential consumer goods and school supplies from 2024 to the 2025 Tet in the city".
Accordingly, the commodity groups (12 commodity groups) include food (rice, dry processed food, flour...); sugar; cooking oil; cattle meat; poultry; poultry eggs; processed foods; vegetables; seafood; spice; milk; and drinking water. The amount of market-stabilized goods accounts for 23% to 31% of market demand.
Learning service items include 6 product groups: notebooks; briefcases, backpacks, handbags; school uniforms; student shoes; learning tools; and electronic devices for learning. The amount of market-stabilized goods account for 35% to 50% of the consumption needs of pupils and students in the city in the 2024 - 2025 school year.
Essential consumer goods include 6 product groups: dishwashing liquid, floor cleaning liquid, hand sanitiser, laundry detergent/fabric softener, biodegradable trash bags, and wet/dry paper towels.
The program implementation period is 12 months, starting from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025.
Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee encourages businesses to participate in the Market Stabilization Program to invest in developing modern distribution types such as supermarkets, and convenience stores, focus on developing sales points in traditional markets, export processing zones, industrial parks, worker accommodation areas, suburban areas and suburban districts within the city. They also encourage businesses to actively organize mobile sales trips and promote the supply of market-stabilizing goods to collective kitchens; proactively organize and implement promotional programs to promote the distribution and consumption of goods to stabilize the market.
