Korea bids to purchase over 42,000 tons of rice

(VAN) Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (KAFTC) announced the opening of the 6th bid of 2021 to purchase 42,222 tons of rice under the tariff-rate quota mechanism.

According to the Department of Asia-Africa Market (Ministry of Industry and Trade), among the aforementioned 42,222 tons of rice, 20,000 tons of medium-grain brown rice will be purchased by KAFTC from the US, the remaining 22,222 tons (11,111 tons delivered until February 28th 2022 at Gunsan port and 11,111 tons delivered until March 31, 2022 at Ulsan port) are long grain brown rice with no origin restriction.

Bidding registration deadline: before 15:00 Wednesday, September 8th, 2021 (Korea time). Bid opening time: 60 minutes from 10:00 am - 11:00 am (Thursday) September 9th, 2021.

Businesses submit documents directly or through the electronic bidding system at www.atbid.co.kr.

Note: In order to submit documents through the electronic bidding system, businesses must first register for electronic fingerprint authentication with the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation.

Businesses deliver samples directly (5 bags, 2 kg each) through the Food Management Office of Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation or send it by mail to aT Center (Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, 227, Munwha -ro, Naju - si, Jeollanam - do, Republic of Korea).
