World coffee prices today simultaneously increased slightly in the context of USDX falling, although the Fed continued to raise monetary interest rates.
The Fed's decided to raise the USD interest rate this period by 0.25%, to range from 5.25% to 5.0 %/year. It is not surprising because it is not outside of the previous market's speculation. This is because the reports show that inflation has cooled down somewhat.
On the London bourse, the inverse price structure continued to move at a high level in the context of tight supply and low inventories.
The tightening situation from leading producing and exporting countries has caused the consumer market to raise concerns about a short-term supply shortage.
Accordingly, it is forecast that Indonesia's coffee production will decrease by 1.8 million bags to 9.7 million bags. This is the worst crop in the past 10 years and Vietnam is not expected to exceed 29 million bags in the next crop.
According to estimates by Safras & Mercados, about 83% of the Robusta coffee crop in Brazil has been harvested, the same level as last year and below the five-year average of 89%. There were a few rainy days at the beginning of the month, but harvesting activities soon returned to normal.
