According to Agency of Foreign Trade (Ministry of Industry and Trade), tensions between Russia and Ukraine have affected the export activities of fruit and vegetables to the Russian market.
Fruit and vegetable orders to this market had to be suspended due to the lack of shipment flights. In addition, the halt of orders and shortage of flights also made businesses unable to build freight for partners' orders.
The fact that some Russian banks are banned from participating in international transactions will also affect the payment cash flow for businesses exporting fruit and vegetable.
However, the overall impact on the fruit and vegetable industry is not significant due to the low proportion of fruit and vegetable export to the Russian market, accounting for only 1.9% of the total export turnover over the first 2 months of 2022.
Russia is among the 10 largest fruit and vegetable export markets for Vietnam in the first two months of 2022, the export value of vegetables and fruits to Russia reached $9.5 million, up 7.7% over the same period in 2021.
