The Vietnam One Stop store was implemented by the Business Association of High-Quality Vietnamese Products and the Business Studies & Assistance Center (BSA) in coordination with Vui Vui Company’s Agricultural Product Development Project at Grand World. After approximately a month of operation, the store is becoming an attraction for domestic tourists, especially international tourists, to visit, experience, and shop.
According to Ms. Vu Kim Anh, Deputy Director of BSA, there are still traditional craft villages that are gradually disappearing. Many establishments operate effectively and have quality products but still encounter barriers, as Vietnamese products still do not have a stable market.
“With the desire to tell not only Vietnam’s story from the most typical indigenous agro-products from the S-shaped country but also the story of the colorful cultural identities of 54 ethnic groups, Vietnam One Stop was formed with the first store in the Grand World area. It gathered thousands of typical products from 40 businesses from more than 30 provinces and cities to introduce to tourists," shared Ms. Vu Kim Anh.
Thousands of new, unique products with local characteristics, indigenous resources, geographical indications, Vietnamese national cultural identity, environmental friendliness, green and sustainable development, etc. are introduced and displayed at the Vietnam One Stop store. These products meet safety standards and are OCOP ones with 3-5 stars and high-quality Vietnamese ones with integration and organic standards.
Tourist Nina Jhang (Taiwan) said that “I am impressed with this place because of its clean space and shelves, enthusiastic staff, diverse products, especially many organic products with the prices that are not too expensive. This is an ideal place for tourists like me to buy Vietnamese gifts for family, friends, and even partners," said Nina Jhang.
“This is my first time coming to Phu Quoc. It's quite exciting to find a store full of Vietnamese products to give as gifts to friends when returning to the US. I bought a lot of products such as Dat Phu lotus embryo tea, Vu Gia yellow flower tea, Vietnipa diet sugar from nipa palm honey, etc.," said Ms. Lan, a Vietnamese American.
As one of the start-up businesses with the Mr. Muop brand participating in displaying loofah products at Vietnam One Stop, Mr. Do Dang Khoa, Director of Thao Minh Company (Dong Thap), said this is an opportunity for businesses to reach international customers.
“This is a great opportunity to spread the green values of Mr. Muop's products to more domestic and foreign consumers. More importantly, it helps to increase revenue for our 'Connecting People with Nature' project," Mr. Khoa said.
Similarly, Mr. Phan Minh Tien, Director of Vietnam Nipa Corporation (Vietnipa), hopes to spread Can Gio nipa palm honey products to international friends. “This is an important channel for us to measure and evaluate international customers' tastes for our products. This can be considered an important stepping stone for start-up businesses like Vietnipa to seek export opportunities," said Mr. Phan Minh Tien.
Ms. Vu Kim Anh, Deputy Director of BSA, said that although it has only been in operation for approximately a month, Vietnam One Stop has met the needs of domestic and international tourists.
“More than 80% of international customers look for products with packaging in Vietnamese, English, and French. We are considering this an on-spot export," Ms. Kim Anh said. She added that after the first few months, BSA will have specific assessments as well as advice for businesses to develop products suitable to tourists’ tastes. At the same time, more products that meet the requirements and are highly appreciated by international tourists will be included in the Vietnam One Stop system .
Phu Quoc is one of the world's most famous tourist destinations. In 2023, Phu Quoc City welcomed about 5.4 million tourists. With the Vietnam One Stop model, it is expected to help promote agricultural products and typical Vietnamese products to international tourists and bring revenue and development to start-up businesses in the upcoming time.
It is expected that Vietnam One Stop will continue to open more store chains in tourist areas, residential clusters, entertainment centers, etc. to promote on-spot export, strengthen the national brand, and contribute to sustainable development for start-up businesses and local specialty craft villages.
