Since the outbreak of the pandemic, this is the first event of its kind to include V4 members namely the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia.

Mr. Marek Vaselsky, head of the Ministry of Agriculture's Research Department, provided an overview of the Czech Republic's agricultural industry at the forum. With an agricultural area of 3.5 million hectares, a contribution of 2.7% to the GDP, and an average farm size of 30 ha, it is equivalent to that of other European nations.
The Czech Republic is also constructing a strategy for the research, development, and innovation of agriculture for the period 2023-2032, with several missions based on the visions of agriculture-food, forestry, and water management research. During the event, he also presented the achievements of Czech agriculture in recent years, including a smart field model with an automatic system to collect and change temperature, the humidity of micro-climate, and soil based on the internet of things (IoT), smart farming thanks to the diversified application of fertilizers for the root zones of conventional crops, and develop a verification system to implement the national monitoring systems by the remote sensing methods.
Mr. Adrian Gawlowski, Deputy Director of the Export Support Department at the National Support Center for Agriculture in Poland, stated that Vietnam is one of the nations in Poland's geographic export structure. Poland is the sixth economy of the European Union and the largest market among Eastern Europe countries with more than 40 million populace.
Despite the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic, Vietnam's exports of agro-forestry-fishery products to Poland increased to 213 million euros in 2021, while Poland's exports of agricultural products to Vietnam totaled 143 million euros.
"For agricultural trade between Vietnam and Poland, imports are more than exports, and we are happy to see the growing numbers”, Mr. Gawlowski stated.
At the event, experts from Hungarian and Slovak firms offered a great deal of information regarding innovative agricultural initiatives and sustainable agricultural farming solutions.
