The number of newly registered enterprises in the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors has declined

(VAN) After 9 months, the country saw nearly 121.9 thousand newly registered enterprises, an increase of 3.4%. Among these, 1.204 enterprises were in the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors, a decrease of 5.6%.

According to the newly released report by the General Statistics Office (GSO), in September 2024, the country had 11.2 thousand newly established enterprises with a total registered capital of approximately USD 3.87 billion and nearly 63 thousand registered workers.

Compared to August 2024, September saw a 16.3% decrease in the number of enterprises, a 25.5% drop in registered capital, and a 12.3% decline in the number of workers. When compared to the same period in 2023, the number of newly established enterprises in September 2024 decreased by 5.0% in terms of quantity, 5.8% in registered capital, and 16.3% in the number of workers.

Additionally, the average registered capital per new enterprise in September was around USD 345.833, down 11.1% from the previous month and 0.8% from the same period last year.

In the first 9 months of 2024, nearly 121.9 thousand enterprises were newly registered across the country with a total registered capital of over USD 48.27 billion and more than 735 thousand registered workers. This marks a 3.4% increase in the number of enterprises, a 3.4% rise in registered capital, and a 3.4% decrease in the number of workers compared to the same period in the previous year.

The average registered capital per new enterprise in the first 9 months of 2024 was approximately USD 395.833, similar to the same period in 2023. The total additional capital injected into the economy during this period was around USD 96.27 billion, a 6.1% decrease compared to the same period in 2023.

In terms of the economic sector, in the first nine months of 2024, the country saw 1.204 newly established enterprises in the agriculture, forestry, and fishery sector, a decrease of 5.6% compared to the same period last year; 28.3 thousand enterprises in the industrial and construction sector, an increase of 0.9%; and 92.4 thousand enterprises in the service sector, an increase of 4.4%.

During this period, more than 61.1 thousand enterprises resumed operations, marking a 25% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Thus, the total number of newly established and returning enterprises in the first nine months of 2024 is over 183.0 thousand, an increase of 9.7% compared to the same period in 2023. On average, more than 20.3 thousand enterprises were newly established or resumed operations each month.

On the flip side, there are also 86.9 thousand enterprises temporarily suspending their business operations, an increase of 14.7% compared to the same period last year; nearly 61.5 thousand enterprises have ceased operations and are awaiting dissolution procedures, a rise of 33.4% compared to the same period. Additionally, nearly 15.4 thousand enterprises have completed dissolution procedures, an increase of 18.9% compared to the same period.

Thus, after nine months, the total number of enterprises exiting the market reached 163.8 thousand, an increase of 21.5% compared to the same period last year. On average, more than 18.2 thousand enterprises exited the market each month.

According to the survey results on business trends from enterprises in the manufacturing and processing industry for the third quarter of 2024: 34.7% of businesses assessed their production and business situation as better than in the second quarter of 2024; 42.6% reported that their production and business situation was stable, while 22.7% faced difficulties.

For the fourth quarter of 2024, 42.2% of businesses expect trends to improve compared to the third quarter of 2024; 40.4% believe the production and business situation will remain stable. Meanwhile, 17.4% of businesses anticipate that conditions will become more challenging.
