On April 6, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) coordinated with the Embassy of Poland in Vietnam and related organizations to organize the program "Tasteful Europe—Tradition and Quality". This program is sponsored by the European Union (EU).

Ms. Justyna Pabian, Deputy Ambassador of Poland to Vietnam, said that in the past, the Polish Government has had many trade promotion activities, especially with agricultural products in Vietnam.

In November 2022, with the support of the Embassy of Poland in Vietnam and the Polish Agency of Investment and Trade, the Promotion Center of the Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry led a delegation of Polish businesses to visit Vietnam to investigate the Vietnamese market.

In February 2023, the Deputy Minister of Polish Agriculture continued to visit Vietnam to negotiate market openings for Polish agricultural products, especially pork.

According to Deputy Ambassador Justyna Pabian, after the period affected by COVID-19, Poland's export turnover to Vietnam prospered again. Approximately 90% of the export growth is mainly from pork and products from this item.

"All of the above actions show that Poland highly appreciates Vietnam, and also demonstrate the determination and goodwill of the Polish side in promoting and cooperating in trade activities with Vietnam," said the Deputy Ambassador.

It is within expectations that the economic relations between Vietnam and Poland will be pushed to a new height within the next two years because the two countries’ agricultural products do not compete directly with each other.

Mr. Piotr Ziemann, Program Manager and Chairman of the Polish Association of Butchers and Meat Producers, agreed with the above view and said that Poland currently has thousands of Vietnamese restaurants. The two countries have a long-standing tradition of cooperation. That is the basis for Poland's desire to boost meat exports to Vietnam, an idea that was conceived more than 10 years ago.

At the introductory session of the program "Tasteful Europe—Tradition and Quality," the Polish side shared some information about the market for agricultural products and processed products in this country.

Specifically, product suppliers must ensure food hygiene and safety in all stages of the chain, including production, storage, and transportation. This includes the prevention and control of risks that may affect consumers' health.

Especially in the EU region, ISO standardization in all fields is strictly respected because it contributes to promoting international trade, organization, and cooperation. Polish consumers tend to use more livestock products with HACCP certification or equivalent.

At the end of the working session, a trade exchange session between businesses of the two countries—Vietnam and Poland—in the field of food and beverage took place between five Polish suppliers and more than 30 Vietnamese enterprises.

"Tasteful Europe—Tradition and Quality" is a program sponsored by the European Union to promote European agricultural products, food, and beverages to the world. This is a good opportunity for businesses from the two countries to directly discuss issues of mutual concern in order to find new business opportunities.
