In Malaysia, black pepper Kuching ASTA was priced at $9,800/ton, while white pepper ASTA reached $ 12,300/ton.
In the Brazilian market, black pepper ASTA 570 was traded at $ 6,900/ton, up 0.72%.
In Vietnam, export black pepper prices declined across the board, with the 500 g/l variety trading at $ 7,000/ton and the 550 g/l variety at $ 7,200/ton. Similarly, export white pepper was priced at $ 10,000/ton.
Global pepper prices today remained mostly stable, with only black pepper from Brazil slightly increasing, reaching $ 6,900/ton.
The global pepper market in 2024 experienced significant fluctuations, with prices rising from 328 Rupees/kg in January to 614 Rupees/kg in June, before stabilizing at 512 Rupees/kg in December. Experts predict that prices could exceed 1,000 Rupees/kg this year.
