In the domestic market, pepper prices on October 16 have slightly increased compared to the previous day. Specifically:
Domestic pepper prices today remain stable in Dak Lak and Dak Nong. Meanwhile, other key regions have seen a slight increase of VND 500.
According to some predictions, Vietnam's 2025 pepper harvest will mainly take place in February, with some areas extending into March and April, which is 1-2 months later than in previous years.
The delay is attributed to prolonged drought, causing Vietnam's pepper supply to become increasingly limited.
Additionally, with competition from Indonesia's new pepper crop, it is forecasted that the domestic market will still not show signs of improvement, as China continues to increase its purchases of pepper from Indonesia.
Thus, domestic pepper prices on 10/16/2024, are trading around VND 143,500 - 144,000/kg.
